Notes[]
- All visual effects in this chapter are courtesy of BionicleChicken, who very kindly aided in the image design process.
- The Matoran design utilized by the Matoran of Marlott is courtesy of JANGBricks, who previously showcased the design on a blog. These designs were used for the entire story for the express purpose of the Matoran Kaita featured in this chapter.
- Credit for use of the Steltian Predator Rifle should be attributed to Chicken Bond.
- Due to filming constraints, several scenes had to be cut from the final version of the chapter. "Bonecrusher" was initially going to swap sides during the final battle and rescue Jekkai. Similarly, Thode and Gorta were going to have a short battle ahead of a cancelled Epilogue dedicated to them both. Thode was also going to be attacked by Salaak shortly after firing on Bonecrusher and would have had to murder his would-be ally. In this scene, Salaak would have finally recovered from his Infected Kanohi and joined the battle to defend Marlott from invaders. As he had never met Thode, he would have assumed him to be one of the attackers. However, the footage for these scenes was no longer retrievable and could not be refilmed, which led to a number of minor continuity errors:
- Merra was originally supposed to have a modified Exo Toa suit, which featured blue accents and was used to film the scene in which her armor was crushed. However, BobTheDoctor27 ended up restoring the Exo Toa to its original orange coloration and used it to film Merra's dramatic entrance onto the battlefield. The intention was always to return and refilm the armor's destruction with the set-accurate Exo Toa, however, it became impossible to refilm at the same location after 2021.
- A brief shot of Turaga Haru, Ninian and Carnac swinging to safety also features Ninian wearing the incorrect Kanohi. This was due to BobTheDoctor27 forgetting to replace the Kanohi on the Ninan model after filming the scene where her mask was replaced. Due to the complexity of this shot and the background of the fortress that can no longer be replicated, the shot could not be refilmed and so was used in the final draft of the chapter.
- Chapter 7 marks the first story appearance of the Boatswaine, a Le-Matoran OC who gained prominence in 2014.
- Initially, the ending of the story would have revealed that Turaga Matoro had been the narrator of Zero Hour, recalling the events of Carnac's life and the fate of the Kanohi Avohkii in the Fractures Universe, on the night of his death. Owing to the cancellation of Judgment Day and lack of suitable footage for this scene, however, the narrator is never revealed.
- A short scene was also planned to depict Merra's transformation into a Turaga, using her Toa Power to heal the injuries she sustained in battle.
- The plan was always for Jekkai to be crushed to death by the boulder and for Bioka to make his entrance, killing the Toa and filling the vacancy in the Cult of Darkness left by Oltab. Thode was his long-term collaborator contracted by the Order of Mata Nui to make Bioka's appearance seem convincing. Thode notably murdered Oltab and Nordix in Chapter 5 for this purpose and stowed a cache of weapons in Chapter 6 for Bioka to access.
