Zaina was a Makuta, and a former member of the Brotherhood of Makuta, and the Order of Mata Nui.
Biography[]
Zaina was originally created by Mata Nui from a greenish-black substance called Antidermis on an island in one of the southern chains. Shortly after her creation, she became a member of the Brotherhood of Makuta. She, like all Makuta, once worked solely on creating new Rahi. During this time, she was trained in combat by Makuta Verahk.
She was later assigned to watch over the southern area of the Northern Continent after the Matoran Civil War by Miserix.
Zaina was once the only being Teridax fully trusted. They both came into being at roughly the same time and often trained together. Zaina was probably the closet thing to a friend Teridax has ever had. However, when the Brotherhood became corrupt and began their plans to overthrow the Great Spirit, Zaina was convinced that her friend had became the embodiment of true evil.
Guilt-stricken over what her fellow Makuta were plotting, she left the Brotherhood and disappeared for many centuries. During this time, she was confronted by the Order of Mata Nui, who convinced her to join them.
Zaina eventually underwent an evolution into a being of energy and armor, a change natural to the species. The Order then modified her armor by adding extra layers of Protosteel in order to accommodate her new state.
More recently, Zaina resurfaced and convinced her brethren to allow her back into the Brotherhood. However, they remained completely oblivious to the fact that she was in fact a member of the Order of Mata Nui. She was then reported to be observing the Brotherhood's activities on the island of Destral.
Later, Zaina was killed by Teridax along with most of the other Makuta after he took control of the Matoran Universe.
Abilities and Traits[]
Zaina was cunning, intelligent, and at times manipulative. She was also a ruthless warrior, having been trained by Verahk. Despite this, she also had a certian amount of compassion for other beings that the other Makuta lacked.
Zaina wielded Shadow powers, shape-shifting abilities, the ability to make Kraata, as well as the 40+ other powers common to other Makuta. As with all Order members, Zaina's mind was shielded from telepathy and other forms of mental probing due to the sensitive information she carried.
Mask and Tools[]
Zaina wore the Great Mask of Emotion. She had two shoulder-mounted Cordak Blasters, a bladed staff, and a Protosteel Electro-Claw. She also had sharp claws and thick armor.
