Yona is a Turaga of Ice from Irania Nui, formerly a Toa of Ice in the original group of Toa Iarn. He faked his death and spent a great many years in hiding.
History[]
When Irania Nui returned to Spherus Magna, Yona made the decision to publicly reveal that he was still alive, to the elation of the entire city. Rather than resume his post as city elder, side-by-side with the recently returned Lome he allowed the newly transformed Turaga Ihu to assume that role. Now, Yona and Lome spend their time wandering between the Iarns, fixing damage done in battles against the Brotherhood of Makuta, and acting as Matoran/Agori relations for the island.
Abilities and Traits[]
As a Toa of Ice, Yona could create, control, and absorb ice. This also gave him the ability to create snowstorms, to travel via ice bridges and more. As a Turaga, his control over ice was greatly diminished.
Mask and Tools[]
One of the original Toa Iarn, Yona was deeply affected by the war with the Skrall of Shadow. Remembering fragments of the events despite Angonce's island-wide mind wipe caused him great distress, though he was sound of mind to recognise the effect it was having on his ability to function as a member of the Irania Nui Council. Though much of his logic and many of his conclusions were skewed, Yona showed remarkable stoicness and resolve even when deeply emotionally unstable. Faking his own death may have been a questionabe decision, but he made it for a selfless reason.
Yona bears the Kanohi Akaku, the Great Mask of X-Ray Vision, and carries an Bi-Elemental Staff, which allows him to channel both his elemental energies, as well as access the element of a nearby Matoran, Toa or Turaga.
