Xianori is a kingdom located in the Bota Magna region of Spherus Magna. It is currently the most economically powerful nation of Spherus Magna. It was founded in a joint attempt by the Bukgu and Vortixx to compete against the Spherus Magna Council and resist its authority.
Xianori is traditionally ruled by an Archon.
History[]
In the wake of the momentous migration of the Matoran Universe inhabitants to Spherus Magna, ambitious plans were set in motion to forge a cohesive society. While the majority of newly-formed nations embraced the unity offered by the Spherus Magna Council, others stood firm in their resolve to chart an independent course. Among these defiant factions were the Bukgu and the Vortixx, who banded together to establish their own sovereign realm: Xianori.
Enshrined in legends, the origins of Xianori are traced back to a Bukgu visionary who led their people to a desolate land. Harnessing the mystical powers of a sacred dagger, this figure breathed life into the barren earth, laying the foundations of the kingdom. Thus, the first Archon of Xianori ascended, presiding over a realm propelled by the astute acumen of its founders, fostering swift growth in both commerce and industry.
Unbeknownst to Xianori, corrupt Senators within the Spherus Magna Council became intrigued by the kingdom's allure, secretly orchestrating the construction of the Spherus Magna Refuge near the kingdom. While ostensibly serving as an observation post for monitoring Xianori, this refuge evolved into a hub of exploitation, preying upon the laboring masses of the kingdom.
During The Invasion, Xianori was spared the brunt of the Chorak onslaught, as their assault focused predominantly on Metru Magna. However, had Metru Magna fallen, Xianori would have inevitably become the next target.
In the aftermath of The Invasion, a new Archon ascended the throne, hailing from the ranks of the Vortixx. During their tenure, this leader became aware to the illicit machinations of the corrupt Senators within the Spherus Magna Council. However, instead of exposing their crimes, the Archon struck clandestine deals to exploit the situation to their own advantage.
Rebellion[]
As time elapsed, Xianori's social fabric began to erode, plunging the kingdom into unrest and discontent. Recognizing the gravity of the deteriorating circumstances, the incumbent Archon chose to abdicate their position. In their stead, a Bukgu named Canrum ascended to the throne, assuming the mantle of leadership in a time of profound turbulence.
Galvanized by a shared vision of change, the disenchanted citizens of Xianori rallied under the banner of the clandestine underground army led by Savior of Spherus Magna, Kapokhed. Embarking upon audacious acts of subterfuge, members of the rebellion orchestrated the theft of the Kanohi Ignika from the heart of Metru Magna, seeking to harness its power in their campaign.
Amidst this chaos, Turaga Tahu, accompanied by the Alpha Being Veuy and Senator Isale, ventured into Xianori in pursuit of the Mask of Life. Operating incognito as one of the Rebellion's leaders, Isale obtained possession of the Ignika from her agents before perpetrating a fateful assassination of a noble Bukgu, Zirnitra. This event became the catalyst for a savage civil war, as the Rebellion unleashed a wave of violence against the Xianori aristocracy. However, the timely intervention of Deriahk, bolstered by his Chorak allies, stemmed the tide of revolt, decisively quelling Kapokhed's ambitions.
Following the Rebellion's defeat, Canrum met his untimely demise, plunging Xianori into more chaos and confusion. The kingdom's ruling elite, fueled by rage and resentment, laid blame squarely at the Spherus Magna Council for this crime. This ignited a brief but fierce conflict between the two nations, culminating in the Council's assimilation of Xianori into their confederacy. To oversee the transition, Diugn was appointed as the Governor of Xianori, wielding the Council's authority to implement far-reaching reforms aimed at rectifying social imbalances. While the majority of the population embraced Diugn's progressive leadership, the nobility resisted, their memories of the Rebellion serving as a stark reminder of the consequences of their defiance.
Landscape[]
Nestled amidst the verdant plains of Spherus Magna, the kingdom of Xianori beckons with its allure. A picturesque locale, renowned for its opulent ports and thriving trade, it also harbors danger and intrigue. Vigilant sentinels patrol the streets, ensuring that inhabitants and visitors alike adhere to strict regulations. Those who display a lack of refinement or are deemed of lower standing are met with scornful gazes of disdain.
Xianori stands as a bastion of artistic expression and cultural refinement. Its architectural marvels bear the unmistakable touch of skilled artisans, with handcrafted aesthetics adorning the buildings and streets. Gardens and ornate fountains dot the landscape, lending an air of enchantment to this realm.
Defrejj's Workshop[]
Within Xianori lies the workshop of the esteemed Po-Matoran gemologist, Defrejj. Disguised as a simple jewelry store, this place serves as a hub for the creation of magnificent artifacts and cutting-edge experiments on the enigmatic properties of crystals. Defrejj's creations have garnered immense popularity among the kingdom's elite.
Magistrate of Xianori[]
The seat of Xianori's government, the Magistrate stands as a testament to grandeur and authority. Within its opulent confines, the Archon, chosen ruler of Xianori, resides and governs. This regal abode also serves as the primary destination for foreign diplomats and ambassadors, boasting a sprawling hangar that facilitates the launching, landing, repair, and refueling of aerial vessels.
Spherus Magna University[]
A beacon of knowledge and enlightenment, Xianori proudly hosts the prestigious Spherus Magna University. Drawing students from far and wide, this esteemed institution caters to the academic aspirations of hundreds of Ga-Matoran, Ko-Matoran, and even Scrimak.
Slums[]
Nestled within the outskirts of Xianori lie the slums, a somber reminder of the challenges faced by the working-class Matoran, Agori, and the marginalized Bukgu. In these precarious settlements, the less fortunate eke out an existence, grappling with the hardships that life bestows upon them.
Culture[]
Xianori, as the wealthiest nation in Spherus Magna, exudes an aura of prestige that permeates every facet of daily life. Being a coastal kingdom, Xianori thrives on an intricate web of trade, encompassing both legitimate and shadowy enterprises. The kingdom boasts robust economic ties with numerous nations, including the ironic partnership with Metru Magna.
Prior to the Rebellion, the Bukgu and Vortixx occupied the apex of societal hierarchy, with the Bukgu maintaining a steadfast adherence to their traditional caste system. Subsequently, under the jurisdiction of the Spherus Magna Council, Xianori underwent a profound transformation under Governor Diugn, who championed progressive social reforms. The outdated caste system of the Bukgu was outlawed, opening doors of opportunity for low-class Bukgu to secure employment.
Government[]
At the heart of Xianori's governance lies the Magistrate of Xianori, serving as the legislative body of the realm. Guided by the Archon, the chosen ruler of Xianori, the Magistrate comprises a court of nobles who fulfill advisory and enforcement roles. Though the Archon wields the final say in matters of law, Xianori operates as a plutocracy, where true power resides in the hands of influential tycoons, their influence fueled by immense wealth. These magnates possess the means to resolve diplomatic quandaries through bribes or threats of severed trade, thus shaping the destiny of Xianori.
In the aftermath of Canrum's demise, the title of Archon was abolished by the Spherus Magna Council, and the mantle of governance fell upon Governor Diugn. Though the title may have changed, the role remains functionally the same.
Inhabitants[]
Bukgu[]
The Bukgu are, along with the Vortixx, the founders of Xianori. Before the Rebellion, the members of this species managed a caste system attributing prestige to the color of the eyes; members of yellow and red eyes were part of the nobility, while those with blue and green eyes were servants or were in the working class.
Matoran and Agori[]
Some Matoran and Agori inhabit Xianori and constitute a large part of the working class. The majority of Matoran live modestly, except the Bo-Matoran, who are employed by the elite to maintain the kingdom's gardens.
Toa are not normally welcome, and if a Matoran is transformed they are expected to leave the kingdom as soon as possible.
Rahi[]
Some Rahi live in Xianori, including pets and animals that serve practical functions.
Vortixx[]
The Vortixx are, along with the Bukgu, the founders of Xianori.

Trivia[]
- The Alpha Beings knew that the Spherus Magna Refuge had been built to keep Xianori under observation, but they did not know that it was also carrying out illegal operations in the kingdom. Had he heard about the corruption, Vavakx would have detained the Senators involved.
