Vultraz was a Ta-Matoran murderer from the Tren Krom Peninsula. He was later killed by Mazeka, but was ultimately revived on the Red Star.

History[]
Vultraz was created by Mata Nui during the early years of the Matoran Universe.
While living on the Tren Krom Peninsula, Vultraz gained a bad reputation as a criminal. In one instance, he killed a Matoran who happened to be Mazeka's mentor, and stole all of his research, which included theories about how the Great Spirit Mata Nui created the Makuta species. He later murdered an entire village to obtain a rare lava-gem. These vile actions led Mazeka to try and bring Vultraz down, and the two clashed many times. Five years later, Mazeka managed to kick the Ta-Matoran over a cliff, seemingly to his death.
Vultraz survived the fall, but was heavily damaged. He was saved by Rahi belonging to Makuta Gorast. After rebuilding him, Gorast then used a Shadow Leech on Vultraz, transforming him into a Shadow Matoran. Gorast also gave him a Kanohi Mask of Scavenging so he would no longer be recognizable and better suit her needs. She then tasked him with hunting down the De-Matoran, Krakua.
Vultraz soon tracked down Krakua in De-Koro and used a device which amplified sound to knock out several De-Matoran. He was about to kill the De-Matoran when Mazeka and Jerbraz intervened. While Jerbraz evacuated Krakua to safety, Mazeka fought against Vultraz in what became a battle to the death. This fight lasted until Mazeka finally grabbed ahold of Vultraz and detonated an explosive device which killed them both.
Mazeka's brave efforts to take down his mentor's murderer would ultimately be in vain however, as Vultraz was soon revived aboard the Red Star.
Abilities and Traits[]
Vultraz is selfish and uncaring of others, perfectly willing to kill as many as he needs to in order to get what he wants. If someone has something he wishes to have, then he will destroy their entire village to get hold of it. He shows no remorse for the death he causes, and seems to take pleasure in punishing those who oppose him. He has a habit of spinning his blade before he makes a kill.
As a Ta-Matoran, Vultraz possessed resistance to heat. This resistance was negated when his Light was removed, but he gained the ability to fire Shadow bolts.
Vultraz is also a brilliant engineer, having built the Skyfighter with stolen equipment and weaponry.
