Vodak is a Toa of Light and a member of the Legion of Light from the Altronia Continuity.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
Vodak came into existence as an Av-Matoran, somewhere in Karda Nui. Vodak worked along with the other Av-Matoran to maintain the energy core of the Great Spirit Robot, unaware of its true nature. When the Great Cataclysm occurred, Vodak and the other Av-Matoran made new homes in the stalactites that formed in the inactive energy core, using jetpacks to travel easily.
Birth of the Legion of Light[]
When Takanuva entered Karda Nui, he alerted the other Toa Nuva to the fact that awakening Mata Nui would unleash Energy Storms in Karda Nui and kill everything inside. Makuta Krika overheard this, and chose to disable the Codrex by camouflaging to get inside, and using Fragmentation to destroy the crystals inside. After Krika was killed by an enraged Gorast, the Toa Nuva and Av-Matoran escaped Karda Nui back to Metru Nui.
Takanuva became despondent since he had unknowingly inspired Krika to disable the Codrex, and he believed that this meant that he had failed his destiny, dooming the universe to endless twilight under the sleeping Great Spirit. Takanuva's despondence turned to rage, and he concluded that Mata Nui's only hope was the eradication of all of the power of Shadow from the universe, especially the Makuta. To this end, he contacted Helryx, who agreed, and helped Takanuva with his plan - create a Legion of Toa of Light from all available Av-Matoran, and wage war on Makuta everywhere. With the resources of the Order of Mata Nui behind him, Takanuva successfully created this Legion of Light, and Vodak was among those recruited.
Vodak was committed fully to the cause of the Legion of Light, and even made a close friend among the Legionnaires, and the pair of them went on many successful missions together, eliminating a half a dozen Makuta in their time.
Dimensional Displacement[]
The pair of Legionnaires, including Vodak, were on a mission to kill Makuta Tridax and steal the Mask of Dimensional Gates under his care. The pair fought hard, but Vodak's partner was killed in combat, though Vodak seemingly prevailed. As Vodak was mourning the loss of the other Legionnaire, reclaiming their Mask of Command as per Legion protocol, Tridax phased out of the floor in which he had been hiding, and opened a portal to the Junction Dimension just above Vodak. Vodak was drawn into the portal, surprised, enraged, and fuming with vengeance that would not be easily quelled.
Capabilities[]
Powers[]
- Elemental Light Control: Vodak has near-complete control over the element of Light, and is able to bend it to their will. Examples include:
- Light Creation: Vodak can generate light which they can then control.
- Light Manipulation: Vodak change the hue, intensity, and direction of light as they see fit.
- Light Energy Absorption: Vodak can absorb energy from Light to either temporarily boost their power, or to release the extra power in a concentrated blast.
- Kanohi Usage: Vodak, being a Toa, can use Kanohi Masks of Noble and Great power level.
- Fragmentation Rhotuka: Vodak's Rhotuka cause a target to explode into pieces upon impact, and the area of effect on large targets increases as the Rhotuka is charged up.
Abilities[]
- Expert Combatant: Vodak has been trained by members of the Order of Mata Nui and been tested in combat against Makuta and their servants, and is thus skilled in combat and the use of all of their tools, as well as the majority of their powers.
Equipment[]
- Kanohi: Vodak wears a Great Kanohi Ruru, which is their original mask, and a Great Mask of Command, which they reclaimed from their deceased friend.
- Legion Light Lance: Vodak carries a standard-issue lance provided by the Legion of Light, which is adept at channeling and focusing Elemental Energy, but also facilitates both ranged and melee combat, and its hook-like blades serve utilitarian purposes such as climbing and pulling targets in close.
Personality[]
Vodak is best described in one word: intense. When Vodak is happy, the joy is infectious. When Vodak is angry, it is a boiling inferno of rage. Most importantly, when Vodak is committed, it is a life-or-death level of commitment. Vodak will die for friends and causes alike, and this makes them both completely trustworthy and completely vulnerable to emotional manipulation. Vodak has been described by other Legionnaires as a personification of the summer sun, radiant and warming, until they become scorching and unbearable. Vodak's intensity was tempered significantly by their close friend among the Legion, but without their calming influence, and with the impact of their loss, Vodak's temperament has become even more extreme than before.

Trivia[]
- Bonk refers to Vodak in a gender-neutral way, and is working with the idea that since Vodak is an Av-Matoran, who are not "elementally gendered" like other Matoran, Vodak does not commit to any particular gender presentation, and will not correct anyone who genders them any which way.
