Vitdura was a Ta-Matoran who became a Toa of Fire and joined the Toa Kotulsis
History[]
Early History []
Vitdura began his life on Spherus Magna, as a Ta-Matoran, where he aided in the construction of the Matoran Universe. He would later be placed within the Matoran Universe on Metru Nui, along with a large population of other Ta-Matoran. Shortly after the successful launch of the Matoran Universe, Vitdura gained true sentience due to Velika's tampering with the Matoran species. Although he continued his original task, Vitdura was imbued with emotions and became self-aware.
Vitdura took up occupation as a Protodermis farmer, working with and refining molten Protodermis. He was noted to be fearless and very outgoing, and eventually ended up in a high-level position. When Akilini was first created, Vitdura became one of the early adopters of the game, often competing in tournaments.
Vitdura lived life in this fashion for many years. He loved his job and the city very much, but his wanderlust grew to a point where he had no choice but to satisfy it. He, along with a Ga-Matoran friend of his who had similar desires, Mareela, made plans to travel the world, and departed about 10,000 years after the launch of the MU.
In the relative safety of the world ruled by the League of Six Kingdoms, Vitdura and Mareela made their way south, traveling extensively throughout the Matoran-friendly Northern Continent. They made a number of friends and visited as many notable sights as they could.
At one point, the two Matoran came upon a village that was being preyed upon by a certain Rahi which had abducted many Matoran in order to consume them. Vitdura and Mareela were instrumental in creating and carrying out a plan that rallied the remaining Matoran in an effort to rescue their comrades. Their plan went smoothly until the crux of the operation, where the Rahi proved to be more capable than assumed. By acting as a distraction, the pair were able to provide time for the captured Matoran to be rescued by their brethren. This came at the unfortunate price of being cornered and nearly killed, but as fate would have it, they were transformed into Toa at the very moment before they would have died. With newfound strength, they were able to frighten and subdue the Rahi.
They returned to the village as heroes, and were honored by the ones they had aided. They stayed there for several months, as the local Turaga tutored the new Toa on the usage of their Kanohi and elemental powers. Still flush with desire to explore, Mareela and Vitdura continued on their journey shortly thereafter.
Life as a Toa[]
The two had a number of adventures in nearby locations, becoming even closer friends in the process. Their teamwork allowed them to escape a number of perilous situations that neither could have survived alone.
Around 20,000 years after the MU's launch, the Brotherhood of Makuta put out a covert call to all nearby Toa to join their army against the League of Six Kingdoms, who were conspiring to overthrow Mata Nui. Vitdura and Mareela became part of this war effort, although they were separated during this time. Vitdura participated in toppling resisting League strongholds, proving effective as a foot soldier.
Following the conclusion of the war, Vitdura searched for, but was unable to locate, his companion Mareela. He drifted from place to place, often helping to put down remnants of the League's forces and growing close with the other local Toa.
Following this, roughly 71,000 years later, Vitdura and a number of other Toa were forced to subdue a Blade Burrower that had gone on a rampage. They managed to beat it, although it required them to bring it to the brink of death. This fight angered several Matoran conservation groups who opposed the harm done to the Burrower.
Around 21,000 years after the MU's launch, Vitdura purchased several new Kanohi, and began practicing to use their powers. The Kanohi included a Matatu, a Rau, and a Mask of Growth.
Shortly after the Matoran Civil War, Vitdura was sent to Voya Nui to assist with a large forest fire that was decimating the region, as he could absorb the heat, being a Toa of Fire. Shortly after he arrived, a huge blast of energy swept across the area, transforming him and a number of his brethren. Each of them received an altered set of armor, and their Kanohi was changed into the shape of a Hau, though they retained their original powers.
This energy blast also seemed to affect the minds of some of the Ta-Toa, who promptly went mad and began rampaging, lashing out with their tools and powers. Vitdura was unaffected by this, and worked with several other still-sane Toa to quell the others. The forest fire, too, was eventually put out.
Around 70,000 years after the MU's launch, Vitdura took up residence in a large Matoran city in the south. About a thousand years later, his old partner, Mareela, showed up to guard the city as well. He was overjoyed to discover that his old friend and traveling companion Mareela was going to serve as a guardian of the city. Their reunion was commemorated by a celebration the night after Mareela's arrival.
Abilities and Traits[]
Personality and skills[]
Vitdura is a sociable and friendly Toa that loves to talk. His boundless optimism energizes those around him, and his good nature endears him to the majority of his acquaintances. He seemingly never gets tired, but can be prone to impulsive and rash actions, like many Toa of Fire. Vitdura can also tend to be a show-off, never letting a chance to impress people go by.
Vitdura is a competent warrior, with a natural affinity for bladed weapons, but appreciates the versatility of ranged weapons as well.
Powers[]
As a Ta-Matoran, Vitdura had a small portion of elemental fire energy, which manifested as a resistance to heat. Like the rest of his kind, he also possessed an above-average competency in mathematics.
Upon becoming a Toa, Vitdura gained access to the full measure of his powers, giving him the ability to create, control, and absorb flame and heat to a near-perfect degree. Examples of this include creating fireballs, generating a rain of fire, absorbing the heat in an area, and putting out fires.
Equipment[]
Vitdura wears the Kanohi Arthron, Mask of Sonar. It gave its user the power to sense the movements and positions of targets through echolocation.
Vitdura currently wields a double-bladed broadsword and a Zamor sphere launcher. He also possesses a pair of hand scythes and a halberd.
