I've been a long advocate of standardizing the infoboxes on this wiki as much as possible.
While we don't have a strict infobox policy which therefore allows anyone to use any infobox design they choose (for example, I use my personal infoboxes, as does chalk), the fact is that most people use the default, especially new users. The problem is, we don't have a set default. I've seen so many users use an infobox I've never ever seen before and it turns out it is almost a decade old.
We have the classic with a variant made by Slicer to accomadate more colours. This is the old design:

As you can see, there is a problem. We have way too many templates that do the same thing. As such, I would like a definitive decision to be made by the community and decide on a default infobox to be used on all canon pages and as the default for most pages. Personally, I would prefer to completely switch the old design for the new while leaving the old infobox behind as an option for those who still want to use it.
However, no matter what happens, there will be some streamlining. I will replace all outdated infoboxes and possibly merge a few others, for example, {{Character}} and {{Character2}}.
