The Toa Xia were a team of Toa formed to defend the island of Xia.
History[]
Formation[]
The Toa Xia had its beginnings in the form of a loose coalition of novice Toa under the mentorship of Toa Pyreus. A brash and arrogant Toa of Fire, Pyreus desired to form a Toa team that would enter the service of the Brotherhood of Makuta as one of their Toa Hagah teams. To that end, he prematurely clad himself in ceremonial metallic armor in the hopes of attracting the Makuta's attention.
Pyreus' first recruits were Trisuma and Nira, both from the Northern Continent, and Arctur, from the Southern Continent. His next stop was Xia, having heard word of a new Toa of Iron. However, upon arrival, Pyreus was suddenly overcome with a mad craving for power and he ended up marooning his crew on Xia before heading off for uncharted waters. Left without direction, the four remaining Toa decided to operate together as a Toa team for the Vortixx, given permission to stay on Xia in exchange for protection services.
With Pyreus gone, Trisuma became leader of the Toa Xia as she was the only one of the four with any leadership capabilities. However, she also shared Pyreus' vision of becoming Toa Hagah and would go to great lengths to paint as perfect a picture as possible for the Toa Xia as possible. As such, when Arctur was caught selling Xian inventions on the black market, Trisuma obliged the Vortixx's command to exile him. After the Brotherhood of Makuta rebelled against the Great Spirit Mata Nui, an order came down to execute all Toa of Iron and Magnetism. Without second thought, Trisuma directed the Makuta to Zaria, although the Toa of Iron managed to survive execution by violating the Toa Code and killing the Makuta sent to kill him.
Disgusted by Trisuma's actions, Nira abandoned her leader, effectively ending the Toa Xia.
