Thom Sail (Pron. tɒm seil) is an extremely old, well-known Matoran originally from the Southern Island Chains. He is now retired and resides in Adytum.

History[]

Very little is known about Thom Sail's early life as he was one of many Matoran who came into being prior to the first Time Slip. Unlike Bercilak, who had some records of his actions as a Toa, Tommas, as he was originally named, was a simple Po-Matoran artisan living on Metru Nui.

Vayu Peninsula[]

Having spent much of his life doing physically intensive work, once Thom finally decided to settle down in Adytum, he discovered his body was beginning to fail. Without the Red Star or Karzahni to repair him, he took matters into his own hands and commissioned a group of Nynrah Ghosts who had set up shop there to create an exoskeleton to support his ailing limbs and joints.

Thom Sail now takes each day as it comes, doing his best to keep a low profile. He was recently approached by Defilak, who was sent by Artahka. to deliever a message. The former ruler had requested Thom's assistance in creating an encyclopedia, seeing as the Po-Matoran was one of the very oldest still alive who had never been revived by the Red Star. At first, the retiree turned down the offer as he did not have a scholarly background. Teridax soon joined the researching group, however, as did one of Thom's oldest friends, Helryx. At this point, Thom could not resist one last hurrah with perhaps the most star-studded roster he had ever worked with and agreed to lend his vast reservoir of experiences and knowledge.

Powerless Ruru: Thom Sail has worn the same Kanohi he was created with, a brown, powerless Noble Ruru.
Protodermis Exoskeleton: Acquired after retiring from his acting stint, Thom Sail's exoskeleton supports his age-weakened mechanical joints and limbs. The exoskeleton was custom-made on Xia and is detachable, though Thom Sail rarely removes this supportive device.
