The Larceny is an ancient pirate ship belonging to Oaryus, a defector of the Skull Raiders.
History[]
The Larceny was the flagship of the Skull Raiders' sea fleet, leading their mission in pillaging the island of Okoto. It was captained by an unknown Skull Raider, alongside several others. Many of the native Okotans have tried to sink the vessel during their conflict against the Skull Raiders, yet it always withstood their attacks. However, that all changed when the Mask Maker Makuta brought his Airship into battle.
He easily destroyed the sails, disabling the pirate ship and stranding it in the middle of the sea. Boarding it, he fought his way through the crew and smashed their cannons, stripping their only means of defending the ship. He eventually made his way towards the captain himself, challenging him to a one-on-one fight. While the pirate eventually went against his word and called upon the aid of his troops near the end, it didn't help all that much. Makuta won, and forced the leader into submission. He offered to spare his life in exchange for his allegiance to him. However, the man mocked the Mask Maker instead, calling him out for his envy towards Ekimu and his "childish dreams of praise from the Okotan worms". Enraged, Makuta slayed him for his words. Oatyus would later assume command of The Larceny after Makuta repaired it, and the ship sailed off into the Great Sea await his summons.
While the ship's crew weren't trapped in the cave-in caused by Makuta's Betrayal, the shockwave created by the Mask of Ultimate Power's destruction did reach its way into the Great Sea. Spawning a massive hurricane, The Larceny was flung back to the island, and was crippled in the chaos. While Kulta and the Lord of Skull Spiders heeded Makuta's calling, Oaryus didn't. Instead, he shifted his attention towards repairing the vessel so that he could leave the island. Although Makuta was angered by this, he did not have the resources to force the pirates back into submission, and thus was forced to ignore their rebellion.
After Makuta's banishment to the Shadow Realm at the hands of the Uniters, the Larceny and her crew were approuched by Ghulmia. Though initially weary of her, she quickly earned their allegiance by magically repairing the ship. Oaryus was still skeptical of her motives, however, and asked if she expected any repayment. Ghulmia then revealed the existence of a Mask of Storms to him, asking him to retrieve it. As wary as he was of her, the captain saw an opportunity to expand his power with such a Mask and agreed to her request. The ship is currently following a lead in the Isle of Storms.
Features[]
While the ship was primarily made of wood, it also had some portions of itself coated in a metallic material. This provided additional armor and protection against attack, which was one of the reasons it survived most naval battles. It held a series of cannons on-board, as well as turrets outfitted with Elemental Blasters. The main mast was heavily armored, covered in a material resistant to Elemental attack. However, it was hardly designed to withstand aerial assault, a flaw which Makuta exploited.
