Tama was a former Toa Hagah of Water assigned to Makuta Chirox, later becoming one of his experiments shortly after the first unleashing of the Visorak. After a hard-fought breakout and now a monster without a purpose, Tama chose to lead a crew of other mutants and monsters to fight against the Brotherhood of Makuta and other malicious forces.

History[]

Beginnings[]

Like most Matoran, Tama started his life on Spherus Magna, created by the Great Beings to construct the Great Spirit. Tama, among other Matoran, were placed in a region of the Matoran Universe which would later be referred to as the Wild Isles, or the Eastern Island chain. This archipelago included islands like Nynrah, Odina, the unnamed island that the Keetongu hail from, and the island that would later become Visorak; Tama specifically being placed in the latter island. The region was one of sharp cliffs, steep mountains, and windswept forested valleys. The islands became a place for the Makuta scientists to put their hardiest, and oftentimes vicious, Rahi, including the infamous Tahtorak. Living in this part of the world was by no means easy, but the Matoran who lived there learn to thrive and live in relative peace.

There was a period of tension and unease when Mata Nui, with no warning or care, graced the island with a new sapient species, wiry giants who fed off the emotions of themselves and others and empower themselves with it. While Mata Nui created them partially to assist the Matoran who lived there, the lack of communication from the perceived deity left much up to the imagination. Tama was one of the Matoran sent by his settlement to liaison with the new arrivals. Tama's laid-back and friendly demeanor led to a successful fraternization, with any worries of distrust and hostility fading fast away.

Abilities and Traits[]

Tama was a brash individual with no sense of grace. Whenever given the opportunity, Tama attempted to solve his problems physically and forcefully, with minor disputes often resulting in brawls. Incredibly reckless, Tama had a tendency to charge into a fight with no prior planning. Despite this, Tama was a quick thinker with a good eye who could gain the upper hand in a fight through more than just brute strength.

Anyone who had made a friend with Tama had made a friend for life; unless they do something to break that friendship. While seemingly having no care for himself, Tama cared about his comrades, often prioritizing them over him. However, this intense loyalty can result in him being easily manipulated.

Tama never used any formal weapons as Toa, instead relying on his fists as well as the added strength granted by his Pakari. After becoming mutated, Tama could not access Kanohi powers, but was granted superior strength from the experiments. Tama began to utilize his massive claw arm as both a blunt instrument and a deadly grip.

As a Toa, Tama had control over the element of water. In battle, Tama's powers typically manifested into a varied amount of fists made up of water. However, he can manipulate water in a multitude of ways and synergize his powers with others; he and Praadok would commonly make miniature typhoons against particularly strong opponents.

When the Kirehe were captured by the Brotherhood of Makuta, they were subjected to experiments involving the newfound Hordika venom. Each Toa received a dose of the venom infused with various virus used to create Rahi to influence what Rahi-traits each Toa would inherit. As a result of the experiments, Tama lost his ability to use his Kanohi and Elemental powers and was turned into a half-beast, half-Toa. Tama gained attributes akin to that of a Manas crab. He inherited the species' formidable strength and tough armor, turning him into a sort of living wrecking ball. However, he inherited the species' foul temper and aggressiveness towards other Manas. He also became more susceptible to the cold.
