The Staff of Hypnosis is Shadowmaster's staff. He has multiple staffs, due to loss of them in battle.

The Staff's main ability is to put anyone who looks into its eyes under Shadowmaster's control, unless he does not wish it to be so (an exception is a being with a very strong mind or with their mind shielded, who will resist hypnosis). The most recognizable feature is the Doom Viper head, which hides a blade. Not only can the blade easily cut through any material, but it can also cut through minds, mental barriers, force fields, souls, and the fabric of the universe.
The Staff secretes a very hot gaseous substance that can vaporize anything it touches, as well as a deadly poison that will kill or corrode nearly everything it touches.
