The governing body known as the Spherus Magna Council (commonly referred to as "The Council" or "The Council of Spherus Magna") serves as the parliament for the planet of Spherus Magna. Initiated under the leadership of Turaga Tahu, this assembly consists of elected representatives who are entrusted with the pivotal task of articulating the desires and aspirations of the populace. Their primary objectives encompass the formulation and endorsement of broad legislative principles, as well as active involvement in facilitating the harmonious integration and functioning of various institutions across the planet.
History[]
Following the demise of Makuta Teridax and the migration of the Matoran Universe inhabitants to Spherus Magna, Toa Tahu was bestowed with the vital mission of guiding the diverse peoples of the planet toward harmonious coexistence. Assisted by the Alpha Beings, Tahu forged powerful alliances with influential figures, gradually attracting more groups and nations to join the cause. This momentous development ultimately led to the establishment of the Spherus Magna Council.
However, not all nations embraced the idea of joining the Council and some even opted to compete against it. Notably, the Bukgu and the Vortixx staunchly refused to participate, instead opting to form their own kingdom known as Xianori.
With the Spherus Magna Council solidifying its authority as the preeminent governing body on the planet, it entered into an alliance with a company called Matatu Corporation. Collaboratively, they initiated the construction of Metru Magna, the capital city destined to house the Council's headquarters. Matatu Corporation exceeded expectations, resulting in a formal alliance between the company and the Council, giving rise to the entity known as Metru Magna Military Engineering.
In subsequent years, a number of corrupt Council Senators became enamored with the riches of Xianori. Concurrently, the Council commissioned the construction of Spherus Magna Refuge. Exploiting their positions, the corrupt Senators clandestinely influenced the construction to be closer to the kingdom, enabling them to capitalize on the situation. These illicit activities at the Refuge remained undisclosed for years, leading certain factions such as the Alpha Beings to believe that the facility was solely engaged in covert espionage.
During the Invasion by the Chorak race, which targeted the population of Metru Magna, the Refuge was briefly utilized before being destroyed in an explosion. Following the conflict, new Council representatives were elected, with most Senators securing a second term while others were replaced.
Koved's Era[]
In the wake of Vavakx's demise, rampant corruption permeated the Council, fomenting growing civil unrest within Xianori.
Turaga Koved, harboring ulterior motives to assume the presidency, meticulously unearthed evidence of the Council's corruption while investigating the ruins of the Refuge. Subtly allying himself with Skakdi Deriahk without divulging his true intentions, Koved entrusted Toa Nugru with a crystal containing his incriminating findings.
Subsequent to the events of the Rebellion in Xianori, the information came to light, triggering a scandal that prompted several Senators to resign or be arrested for their transgressions. Turaga Tahu was subsequently ousted from the Council's presidency, with Koved being elected as his successor.

The Spherus Magna Council stands as a confederation encompassing various species, states, provinces, and cities across the planet of Spherus Magna.
At the helm of this organization is the President, who not only governs the capital city of Metru Magna, but also holds authority over the Council. However, beyond the capital, the President's power is not absolute due to the confederal nature of the Council. Each state enjoys a substantial degree of autonomy.
Comprising the Spherus Magna Council are numerous Senators, representing the aforementioned species, states, provinces, cities, as well as corporations and guilds. Tasked with voicing the needs of their respective groups and voting on the approval of laws, the Senators fulfill their roles as representatives within the Council. While some groups opt to have their own leaders directly representing them in the Council, such as the Alpha Beings' representative, Vavakx, others are elected independently outside their group's leadership.
Collaborating alongside the Senators are Deputy Representatives, who serve as diplomatic aides. These Deputies may temporarily substitute for their Senators in their absence, but their influence on Council matters remains comparatively minor.
The Spherus Magna Council establishes a unified legal system, binding all member groups to adhere to a shared code of laws. Additionally, member groups are obligated to contribute resources and troops to the Council when necessary, facilitating the formation of a cohesive and unified military force.

The President holds the highest position within the Spherus Magna Council. Their official title is "His/Her Eminence, NAME, by the Grace of Mata Nui, President of the Spherus Magna Council and Head of the Confederation of Nations of Spherus Magna."
The President's responsibilities encompass overseeing the parliamentary proceedings of the Council, implementing approved motions, and maintaining order within the organization. As the public face and voice of the Council, they also represent the Council's interests to other organizations and address the population as needed. Furthermore, the President serves as the ruler of the capital city, Metru Magna.
The President has the authority to call for special sessions of the Council and can suspend or expel Senators under exceptional circumstances.
Vice President[]
The Deputy Representative serving the President is referred to as the Vice President, a title recently established by Koved. The Vice President assumes the responsibility of maintaining the Council's operations in the absence of the President.
Senator[]
Senators are elected representatives of member nations or groups within the Council. They bear the title of "His/Her Excellency, NAME, Senator of GROUP of Spherus Magna."
