The Shadow Comet is a very powerful comet in the Solis Magna system.
History[]
The Shadow Comet was created thousands of years ago. When the Makuta rebelled, Teridax emptied a tank of Antidermis after flinging it into space. During that time it flew through space, the coldness of space caused the antidermis to solidify, like Teridax planned, and it went into orbit around the sun.
The comet's power was originally harnessed by Makuta Miserix, who, at the time, was training when he realized his Shadow power was increased. He later learned that the comet blocked out the sun's light that entered the Matoran Universe, putting a huge shadow over the world. He then learned that he could instantly harness this shadow energy and increase his elemental Shadow powers. With all this power, Miserix used it to rebel against the Brotherhood of Makuta, but Teridax also knew about the effects of the comet and was able to fight an even fight against Miserix. Eventually, Miserix was defeated and imprisoned on Artidax.
When everyone in the Matoran Universe evacuated to Spherus Magna, the comet could still be used.
Trivia[]
- If Takanuva harnessed the comet's power while still a Toa of Light and Shadow, it would probably make him a full Toa of Shadow until it's effects wore off.
- Anyone like Takanuva then would also have this happen to them.
- The powers of a Toa of Light are weaker during this event.
- The comet also provides Makuta Light-resistance powers.
- The comet blocks the sun for one and one half days.
- The comet also orbits the sun closer to it than any of the planets, allowing it to cover each of the planets of the Solis Magna system with darkness.
- The Shadow energy increase effect comes from the increase of Firebending power from Sozin's Comet in Avatar: The Last Airbender.
