- Kra-Matoran are the Matoran of Shadow. They possess a small amount of Elemental Shadow Energy, giving them perfect vision in the dark and the ability to fire Shadow bolts.
- Kra-Toa are the Toa of Shadow. They wield Elemental Shadow Energy, allowing them to create and control shadow. They are only limited by the need to recharge their elemental energy when it runs out.
- Kra-Turaga are the Turaga of Shadow. They contain a small amount of Elemental Shadow Energy, but are still able to use it.
- Matoran, Toa, and Turaga of Shadow can be of either gender.
