The Sensor Enhancement Apparatus is a cybernetic implant specially designed by the Vortixx of Xia. The cord-like apparatus is plugged into the user's head, which enhances their senses of sight and hearing, though it can also be manufactured to enhance other senses.
The Zeverek bounty hunter Skorr had one of these apparatus devices plugged directly into his skull by Feex, in order to repair his damaged senses after a particularly gruelling mission. The process of having the apparatus installed is said to be both painful, challenging and costly. As such, very few of these implants actually exist. Wearers of the apparatus can experience mild headaches occasionally, though further modification can reduce the pain levels of these headaches.
If not installed correctly, the apparatus can induce severe mental side-effects on the use including mental instability. Removing the apparatus from its socket without the user anticipating it can have horrendous consequences, and can cause serious brain damage. Depending on how severe or unexpected the removal of the cord is, a user can lose control of their motor functions and, if not attended, may eventually slip into a coma.
