Ragnor is a sapient extra-terrestrial fungus that seeks to become one with all it sees. Inhabiting the corpse of a long-dead Kuat warrior, Ragnor is currently allied with the Disciples of Vradok, on the understanding that it will one day be given a planet of its own to inhabit.
Biography[]
Ryta Universe[]
In the Ryta Universe, Ragnor was a small fungus that had been exposed to a strange, green crystal with alien properties. It gained a mind of it's own, and the ability to mutate and consume other organisms. It came across a lone Kuat, killed it, and took over it's body.
Irania Nui[]
At some point, Ragnor travelled to Irania Nui, and joined the Disciples of Vradok.
Abilities and Traits[]
The virus that constitutes Ragnor is ancient and powerful, from a period of its homeworld's history when civilisation was barely a concept. It seeks to become one with its surroundings, first by extending its consciousness into the fungus and plants nearby, then by spreading further and further until it has an entire world or plane to call its own. It is a lofty goal, but knows it will not find peace until it has an ecosystem devoted to its survival, and its deal with the Disciples of Vradok will allow it to do this.
Ragnor can manipulate anything that his fungal virus infects, whether that be plants, Rahi, or even Matoran and Toa. In its current form, Ragnor has accumulated enough metallic matter to create weapons for itself: a Hunting Spear, and a rotating Power Drill. Any deep wound left by Ragnor instantly becomes infected, and over time, the victim will fall under Ragnor's control.
Ragnor is particularly vulnerable to both fire and ice.
Trivia[]
- The author initially created Ragnor in 2004, for a planned comic series detailing the adventures of Toa Lhikan.
- The Ragnor model is based on the flesh-eating fungus from the popular British Sci-Fi series Primeval.
