Pyreus is an ambitious and arrogant Toa of Fire and was the first leader of the Toa Xia.
History[]
Pyreus began life as a Ta-Matoran, created by the Great Beings to aid in the construction of the Matoran Universe. Once construction was completed, Pyreus was placed on the island of Stelt, where he lived among other Matoran under the rule of the elitist Steltians. Unlike most Matoran on Stelt, Pyreus was admired by the upper class Steltians for his hard work and ambition. He was briefly mentored by Sidorak before setting out on his own path. Through unknown means he acquired a Toa Stone and was transformed into a Toa of Fire. Filled with enhanced ambition and arrogance, Pyreus set out to form a Toa team that would one day join the ranks of the elite Toa Hagah, serving in the esteemed Brotherhood of Makuta.
Traveling to the Northern Continent, Pyreus recruited two recently-created Toa into his group: Trisuma and Nira. Trisuma shared in Pyreus' ambitions and was promptly made his deputy. After recruiting a Toa of Gravity named Arctur, Pyreus and his team set sail for Xia, where word of a new Toa of Iron named Zaria had originated. Upon reaching Xia however, Pyreus was suddenly overcome by a mad craving for power and he abandoned his team on Xia, disappearing into uncharted waters.
Unbeknownst to the others, Pyreus had actually been drawn away from Xia by its Makuta overseer Antroz, who led the Toa of Fire to the Makuta homeland of Destral. There Pyreus was mutated into a Toa Hordika and placed in charge of Antroz's Toa Hagah team, thus granting Pyreus his dream at a mortal cost.
Abilities and traits[]
Short-tempered and passionate like most Ta-Matoran and Toa of Fire, Pyreus was also incredibly arrogant and was willing to do anything to fulfill his ambitions, even if it came at the cost of his own teammates.
Masks and Tools[]
Toa Pyreus wore a Great Kanohi Mask of Charisma, which allowed him to influence others into seeing his perspective. When Pyreus was mutated into a Toa Hordika, he lost the ability to use his mask.
