The Kanohi Pungao is the Mask of Elemental Energy. Its usage is widespread, and it is classified as an Energy power.
The Kanohi Pungao is an odd mask. Its usage parameters are more different from any Kanohi, and its capabilities are strangely easy to interfere with.
The mask will regenerate the elemental energy of its user. However, after depletion, it instantly teleports to the nearest natural source of elemental energy (i.e. a lava river for Fire) to replenish itself, where it remains until found. In more recent times, the Nynrah Ghosts discovered that it was possible to send a Pungao back to a Toa Suva on depletion, rather than a random elemental location, but this still leaves it an ineffective mask for field use.
History[]
The Kanohi Pungao traces its origins back to some of the earliest mask-making techniques adopted on Spherus Magna, where an unclear number of Pungao masks were created. However, rather than being distributed to the Matoran populace, they were given to Turaga and other governing figures, to ensure the masks were properly distributed to Toa or other outlets that required them.
