Title pertaining to the position Kortarex holds within the Apex Dozen and, by extension, any resurgent Brotherhood of Makuta.
History[]
(For the history of Kortarex, see his article.)
The Prime Progeny was a term first used by Teridax (Spherus Imperus) to describe himself, as he believed himself to be the son of the mythical Demonkin. When Teridax ascended through the usage of the Kraahkan (Spherus Imperus) and became the Prime Evil, he referred to himself as the Prime, believing that he had now risen to the mantle. When he created Kortarex to be his aide and the catalyst in his rebirth, he referred to Kortarex as this, due to the complex creation process meaning Kortarex was, in essence, Teridax's son.
It came to be Kortarex's title, and the only official title that could be applied to any of the Apex Dozen, besides their names; the name was also his symbol of authority, representing the recognition by Teridax that Kortarex was the rightful master of the Apex Dozen and secondary master of the Makuta overall.
Kortarex has stated that were he to have a son via a similar method to Teridax, he would likely bestow the title upon him; however, it is unknown whether Teridax has any intention of passing on his power to Kortarex willingly, and, thus, unknown whether a future Makuta could be bestowed the title by Kortarex.

There have been two beings to hold the title:
- Teridax, in relation to himself, as he was believed to be descended from the Demonkin
- Kortarex, with the title having been bestowed upon him by Teridax, due to his technical status as Teridax's son
Theoretically, if another Makuta were to kill Kortarex, they could take his position, and would technically be named the Prime Progeny, due to their assuming of this title; however, how long they'd last with the title before Teridax utterly annihilated them is unknown.
