The Power Stones were created when the Dark Shadow was locked into the Pocket Universe known as the Asylum. There are twelve of them, two controlling one of the six main elements. They were to act as keys to open a portal to the Asylum. They are currently scattered across the Fragmented and Kraverse.

Creation[]
The Power Stones were created by the Great Beings who created the Dark Shadow to act as keys to the Asylum where the Dark Shadow was contained. They created twelve stones, two of each element. They scattered six, one of each element, across the Matoran Universe in the Fragmented Universe, and the other six were scattered across the Matoran Universe in the Kraverse, another Universe attacked and altered by the Dark Shadow. The Great Beings then disappeared.

Kraverse History[]
Six of the them, one of each of the six main elements, were scattered across the Matoran Universe in the Kraverse, which was attacked by the Dark Shadow. There is a portal that can only be activated by the stones in the Kraverse as well, and it leads to the Asylum as well.

Abilities and Function[]
Each power stone has control of one of the six main elements. They cannot drain of their elemental energy, unlike Toa.
They can also corrupt beings, as Echo phrased it, they can destroy the most pure heart.
They are indestructible, due to them having been forged out of the strongest crystal and gems.
They are to act as keys to the Asylum. When placed together in a circle, and when inside the Suva, they create a portal to the Asylum. There is one Suva in both the Fragmented and Kraverse. Once used for this, they will combine into a silver version of one of the stones and blast off into a blackhole in the center of the Universe, to be destroyed forever.
Outside of the Suva, the Stones cannot touch one another, otherwise it will cause a reaction in which they shoot away in random directions across space.
