"Pleasure" and "Pain" were the names given to a pair of Toa Tools wielded by Toa Wreshi.

Description[]

Pleasure was a modified version of the Reciprocating Pickaxe, a long-abandonded form of mining implement adapted from washed-ashore Xian prototypes that were once used by Onu-Matoran on Powai Nui. As suggest by its name, its head was capable of reciprocating back and forth to loosen rock. Toa Detras had also modified it so that it could fold its pick spikes inward to transform into a club. Pain was a simple climbing hook, although both tools could be used in tandem for climbing.

The two tools were connected via a chain made of the bright orange crystal-alloy Tenebrine, similar to the Lacewing allow which composed the Repeller Blade. This made the chain light but strong, and despite her immense strength Wreshi had not once broken it during her time as a Toa. With this chain, the two could be used together as a sort of kusarigama in combat.

Pleasure's shaft was also capable of collapsing in and connecting to the end of Pain's handle for storage.

Trivia[]

  • The tools being used as a kusarigama was inspired by Axl Low from the Guilty Gear franchise.
  • A component of Wreshi's number of references to the electronic duo Justice, the tools' names are inspired by a lyric from their song Pleasure: "By the laws of attraction / And the rules of the game / There's a chemical reaction / Between pleasure and pain."
