The Kanohi Pekhui is the Mask of Diminishment (or Mask of Shrinking), a Kanohi that allowed its user to shrink themselves and their gear down to six inches. While in this state, they retain their full strength, physical and Elemental.
History[]
The Kanohi Pehkui traces its origins back to some of the earliest mask-making techniques adopted on Spherus Magna, where an unclear number of Pehkui masks were created for the Matoran populace. At this point in the history of the Matoran Universe, the Pehkui became heavily associated with Bo-Matoran, who held the mask up as a symbol of their elemental discipline.
Over the 100,000 year span of the Matoran Universe's functionality, the Pehkui became a moderately wide-spread Kanohi. In Metru Nui it could be crafted with relative ease using Shrinking disks, usually originating from Le-Metru or Ga-Metru. While the Mask was fairly easy to manufacture, not many beings saw a practical use for its powered versions. Those that did often used it for espionage, stirring a bit of controversy within the Matoran. However, Toa of the Green held this Mask in high regard, to the point that their Turaga would send them on quests to find Pehkui.
Following his inauguration as a Toa Hagah, Norik was known to have been presented with a Kiril-shaped Pehkui, crafted in honor of a past Toa of The Green.
