Peduik is a Theropx and a member of the Order of Mata Nui.

History

Peduik originally had another name and lived peacefully on his home island of Piruw, where the legendary Kanohi Trankerkokiskorniahk, Mask of Chaos, was hidden. He, along with many others, was one of the designated guardians of the mask.

Soon, the Brotherhood of Makuta learned of the existence of the mask and, in an attempt to get it, unleashed the Visorak horde on Piruw. Most of the inhabitants were massacred by the spider Rahi, while others like Peduik were strung up into cocoons and injected with Hordika Venom, thus transforming them into Hordika mutants.

Realizing the danger the Trankerkokiskorniahk would be in the Brotherhood's possession, the Order of Mata Nui became involved and recruited Peduik for help in saving the mask. After his inception into the organization, he silently foiled the Makuta's plans and took the Trankerkokiskorniahk out of Piruw, bringing it to Daxia. The Order subsequently gave the mask to the Alpha Beings for safekeeping.

Peduik remained an Order operative since then and became specialized as a spy.

Order of Mata Nui

During the events of the Great Rescue in Metru Nui, Mata Nui changed the stars above the city to fool Teridax about who the destined Toa Metru were, and the Order gave Peduik the task of planting false evidence to support Mata Nui's deception.

Millenia later, after getting word of Makuta Teridax's defeat at the hands of Takanuva, Peduik was sent to investigate the news. Peduik's investigation led him to the Pit, where he discovered that the Makuta was still alive and in the body of a Maxilos robot. After Teridax's trace got cold, Peduik returned to Daxia to report his findings.

Peduik survived the Reign of Shadows and, after Teridax's death, he migrated to Spherus Magna with all the inhabitants of the Matoran Universe to start a new life.

The Invasion

When the Chorak invaded Spherus Magna, Peduik was grouped with Frustrator, Deriahk and Brutaka to rescue the Agori Gryk.

After being rescued, Gryk revealed the origins and intentions of the Chorak, as well as the possible salvation of Spherus Magna: the legendary Mask of Wishes.

Peduik eventually joined the group that attacked Metru Magna to rescue the Emir of the Alpha Beings, Vavakx, from the Chorak, and witnessed the end of the war.

Defunction

One thousand years after the events of The Invasion, Peduik helped Veuy in his investigation on the deaths of several Matoran in a village near Metru Magna, following him silently in case he needed backup.

Kryehk, the village leader, showed the only clue she had, a dagger, which was identified as the legendary Dagger of Space, one of the three Entropy Relics. Veuy and Kryehk decided to collect all the relics to solve the mystery.

Suddenly, the village was attacked by a creature named Boparok and at that moment Peduik revealed himself to help in the battle. Boparok overwhelmed the group and stole the second relic, the Gem of Destiny, which was in Kapokhed's possession. Kapokhed awoke shortly after and told them that Boparok had fled to the forest, and Veuy decided to contact Makuta Zakkond for help, as he was familiar with the area.

They met with the Makuta a few hours later and he led them into his cave. Inside, Peduik discovered several Matoran corpses. Soon after, Boparok ambushed and defeated the team. During the commotion, Kryehk found the Chain of Spirit and revealed herself to have been Makuta Pakark in disguise all along. Pakark trapped Peduik and his companions and then took all the relics and disappeared.

Freed from their prisons, Peduik and the rest argued with Boparok, who explained that his intention had been to stop Pakark and that the Makuta was going to use the relics in conjunction with the Mask of Wishes to destroy reality itself.

Returning to Metru Magna, Pakark opened an entrance to the Spiritual Dimension to finalize his plan. Veuy went after him, then emerging from the Spiritual Dimension victorious and with Pakark in chains.

Rebellion

Peduik worked again with Veuy during the events of the Rebellion in Xianori. He spied on a meeting between Toa Nugru, Deriahk, and Koved, in which they revealed that the Spherus Magna Council had become corrupt.

When the Rebellion ended, Peduik confirmed to Veuy his suspicions of corruption in the Spherus Magna Council. Veuy asked what he should do with this information, and Peduik replied that he should make it public. Veuy followed the advice and revealed the information, which had serious consequences on Spherus Magna politics.

Following this, Peduik transferred to the New Takiw Nui.

Abilities and Traits

Peduik usually has a jolly disposition and is known for causing mischief. He is also, however, very cautious of others. He is an expert on sabotage, infiltration, thievery, and stealth.

Peduik has the power to become invisible at will; he does not leave a shadow behind when he becomes invisible and he's also able to mask his thermal signature. When given a proper launcher, Peduik can manifest a highly toxic Rhotuka able to sicken or even kill his targets.

Members of Peduik's species are naturally resistant to mutations. While this did not protect him against his Hordika transformation, it allowed him to resist the associated Rahi-like urges. Years later, his exposure to the Mutagen of the Pit only had the effect of making him amphibious.

Like all members of the Order of Mata Nui, Peduik's mind is shielded against all forms of telepathy and mental aggression.

Peduik's Earth Claw

Peduik wears a Great Akaku, which merged into his face as a result of his Hordika transformation. He's still able to access his mask power, but only instinctively.

Peduik is armed with an Earth Claw, a powerful weapon manufactured in Xia, which became part of his physiology due to his Hordika transformation. The claw has many configurations that allow it to be used as a hand, a spinning shield, or a drill. Besides his claw, he has been known to carry a disk launcher and a Pocket Rhotuka Launcher at times.
