Paladin is an organization, dedicated to taking down Shadowmaster. They are the last non-corrupt faction of the Rebellion.

History

The Paladin faction was created when Shadowmaster seized control of Spherus Magna. They formed from a small group of beings, most of which who had been brought to the prime universe from others to serve Shadowmaster. Eventually, the organization grew, as more beings joined. Other beings, with darker intent, started their own rebel factions, the Void Warriors, Chaos Rippers, and the Death Warlords. The Paladins stood strong for quite long, but eventually, others became to lust for power, and the faction split. Sayna, a senior member of the Paladins, formed the Enlightened. Meanwhile, a number of members broke off and formed the Frost Wolves.

Even the fractured groups stood strong for some time. Eventually, though, some of the members of the other factions broke down, mentally. They began to disagree...disagreements lead to skirmishes, skirmishes lead to war. The Enlightened were the first to split fully. The Frost Wolves eventually left as well.

The Paladins tried to stay away from the battles, and focus on the true enemy. However, the other groups began leading attacks on their base, and they were forced to fight back. One notable battle was between the Enlightened and the Paladins, in which many beings were killed. This sparked a grudge between the two organizations.

Shadowmaster later contacted the Paladins, and informed them of a tournament. They tried to stay out, but he threatened to kill them if they did not. Little did they know that this was a plot to wipe out every rebel.

Some time after the Rebellion's escape, the fortress of the Paladins was stormed by Visorak, and warded off. Later, a larger army of Visorak and Rahkshi, led by Makuta Benjarmin, attacked. The forces were destroyed (with Benjarmin escaping), although not before the fortress of the Paladins was badly damaged. After this, the Rebellion banded together, and took residence in the Paladin Castle. After Teridax attacked, and was killed, the rebels used the fortress ruins to help construct The Kingdom. The Kingdom was formed.
