Makuta Orpheus is a member of the Brotherhood of Makuta living in the Fragmented Universe and successor to Axis as the leader of the Legion of Chaos.

History

Early life

Like all other Makuta, Orpheus was created by Mata Nui in the lower Matoran Universe out of a pool of Antidermis. He was made with the intent of being a member of the Brotherhood of Makuta, an organization tasked with keeping balance within the Matoran Universe and serving Mata Nui.

He became a lab assistant to Makuta Kojol and assisted him with the creation of many types of Rahi, specializing in underground Rahi.

Following the Metru Nui Civil War, Orpheus was assigned to watch over the island of Icarus Nui to ensure a similar event would not break out there. Icarus Nui was mainly inhabited by De-Matoran, so it was very quiet there. The only things that mainly happened was a wild Rahi attacking a village.

Legion of Chaos

While patrolling Icarus Nui, Makuta Axis approached him. The Makuta had come to recruit Orpheus to join his new organization to find an entity from the dawn of the Universe that had been wrongfully imprisoned by the Ancients of Old. Orpheus asked what his role would be and would he have to abandon his role in the Brotherhood.

Axis said that Orpheus would have to abandon everything, but for the greater good. He also said that he would be a lieutenant in his organization. After a few moments hesitation, Orpheus accepted and became a member of the Legion.

They then went to the other members and began looking for the Power Stones, the keys to the Dark Shadow.

In modern times, Orpheus is still in control of the Legion, however now with two new assets: Shadow Skyer and Velika.

Abilities and Traits

Naturally, Orpheus is self-centered and arrogant, only caring about himself and his plans. He was always envious of Axis, because the Makuta wanted to get the glory of releasing the Dark Shadow, but Orpheus wanted it for himself, ironically the same as Axis.

Orpheus was also a huge coward, always running from a fight when things got tough. This was always looked down upon by Axis but he had always found Orpheus good bait for plans.

Orpheus normally attacked with Dark Lightning, a rare skill only shared by a few.

Mask and Tools

Orpheus wears the Kanohi Kadin, Mask of Flight. While he could already fly with his natural abilities, he used the Mask instead of his original abilities.

He wields the Dark Lightning Blade, which can channel his powers.
