Nariku was an Okotan doctor.
Biography[]
Following the battle of the Mask Makers, Makuta and the inhabitants of the Capital City were whisked away to the Shadow Realm, a land where Makuta built his new kingdom, plotted, and raised Skull and Shadow armies to invade Okoto down the line. Among the Capital City denizens were a male Fire Okotan and a female Water Okotan who fell in love and had Nariku.
The child of both the Water and Fire Tribe, Nariku always felt affiliated with neither.
Instead, having lived most of his life in a world of Shadows, Nariku found himself avidly fascinated with Light in whatever form it came in. Nariku believed that somewhere in the Shadow Realm there was a cavern filled entirely with Light. While there yet remains no evidence to prove such a belief, Nariku nonetheless committed his energies to finding such a chamber. The denizen of Makuta's new kingdom was often prone to wandering and exploring the land he and his fellow former Okotans found themselves trapped in.
Nariku quickly developed a reputation as a wanderer, frequently sneaking out of work to explore. Although most were rather fond of him, the Okotan was nonetheless chastised for this regular, careless abandonment of his work. This did little to stop him, however, as his thirst for exploration overrode Nariku's willingness to do his duties.
Over the course of his life in the Shadowed Realm, Nariku encountered numerous injured animals or fellow Okotans. His efforts to bring these back to health not only helped him develop an extensive knowledge of healing and anatomy, but it also gained Makuta's attention and goodwill. Nariku's skills as a doctor and his acts of selfless heroism have played a major role in influencing Makuta and the Okotans not to punish him for his wandering.
Abilities and Traits[]
Having explored much of the Capital City and its fringes in the Shadow Realm, Nariku's knowledge of the place is extensive. It is rumored that no one knows the place better than Nariku, not even Makuta.
Nariku is also well-versed in anatomy and physiology of creatures and fellow citizens alike. It is because of this, people joke that the shape of the Shadow Realm is structured like the inside of a giant Okotan, his knowledge of both is so extensive.
