Moa is a Ta Matoran from Tehktra Nui.
History[]
Moa was among the original colony of Matoran who migrated to Tehktra Nui, many thousands of years ago, believing it to simply be another landmass on Aqua Magna. While hot-tempered at times, Moa did not share many of the more belligerent characteristics of his Ta-Matoran kin, and was not subject to the same discrimination from other Matoran. Only he and a few other Ta-Matoran were not exluded from Tehktranuian society in the Fire Kingdom.
Hoverboarding career[]
For thousands of years, Moa was Tehktra Nui's long-standing Hoverboarding champion, until he was beaten by Aliki. Ashamed not only by his defeat, but also by his very public and misjudged reaction to Aliki's victory, Moa subsequently moved to Irania Nui in an attempt to start afresh. He chose to rent a flat in Ko-Iarn, away from other Ta-Matoran, becoming roomates with the Ko-Matoran Epix.
Soon after his move, he began receiving joke messages through the door and eventually at his place of work, a newly opened hoverboard repair shop, about being a Ta-Matoran in the ice district. A group of Ko-Matoran bigots caused some minor vandalism in Moa's apartment building, though they were apprehended by the authorities and Moa and Epix were well compensated for the damages. Moa offered to leave, but Epix said they would solve the problem together. They discovered that the Ko-Matoran campaigning to have Moa evicted were hardcore Aliki fans who believed that Moa moving away from Tehktra Nui was unsportsmanlike, but Moa eventally solved his differences with them when he and Aliki did a charity hoverboarding race together.
Abilities and Traits[]
As a Ta-Matoran, Moa possesses trace amounts of elemental Fire energy, which would be activated if he became a Toa.
Though initially ashamed of his loss to Aliki, Moa enjoys his new life in Irania Nui and is glad that he has a second chance to do something other than hoverboard.
Mask and Tools[]
Moa wears a powerless Kanohi Ruru, the Mask of Night Vision, and carries Heat Tongs in case of muggers in the Ko-Iarn streets, as Ko-Iarn is known for its inhospitability.
Trivia[]
- Moa is strange by the fact that he is one of the only Ta-Matoran to be accepted into Tehktranuian society. Most were excluded and resided within the Fire Kingdom. Moa himself felt this stigma against his fellow Ta-Matoran, and was one of the reasons why he chose to move into Ko-Iarn rather than Ta-Iarn.
