Mazra Nui, The Great Port, was an island of the Matoran Universe and a major nexus of trade and commerce.
History[]
Mazra Nui, an island within the Matoran Universe, was created by the Great Beings. Originally inhabited by the Bukgu, it later became home to Matoran as well.
The Bukgu, known for their skill in trade, established the thriving Port of Mazra Nui on the island. Through their collective efforts, they negotiated favorable rates and policies with other regions, eventually forming advantageous trade treaties with Metru Nui and Xia. The Port of Mazra Nui grew to become a powerful trade center, exerting dominance over commerce.
During one notable event, the island received a visit from Makuta Carya, who was ultimately slain by Hukna, one of Mazra Nui's inhabitants.
When the League of the Six Kingdoms imposed its control over various regions of the Matoran Universe, Mazra Nui attempted to maintain its independence and confronted the army led by Barraki Carapar. Carapar, apparently seeking a peaceful resolution, offered the Bukgu a 'gift' of food. However, the food was poisoned, resulting in the weakening of the population and the subsequent conquest of the island by the Barraki. Mazra Nui regained its independence when the Barraki mysteriously disappeared.
The Dictatorship of the Toa Mazra[]
A Makuta was appointed as the guardian of Mazra Nui, while a team of Toa known as the Toa Mazra served as the island's protectors. Over time, the Toa Mazra grew ambitious and proclaimed themselves as rulers, a move supported by the local Makuta. The Bukgu opposed this dictatorship, but their objections were ignored by the Toa.
A disillusioned member of the Toa Mazra rebelled against the team's actions. Joining forces with a group of Bukgu, they conspired to create a powerful object called the Nui Stone, intending to use it to overthrow the dictatorship. However, their plot was discovered by the local Makuta, resulting in the exile of the renegade Toa. This event sparked intense debates among the remaining members of the Toa Mazra, leading to infighting. Seizing the opportunity, the Bukgu revolted and forced the Toa Mazra to disband. The disgraced Toa Mazra departed from the island, each following their own path. Subsequently, Mazra Nui ceased accepting new Toa.
Following Teridax's death, the population of Mazra Nui left the island and settled in Spherus Magna, seeking a new home.
Landscape[]
Mazra Nui, a geologically unique island in the Matoran Universe, boasted a diverse landscape of wild prairies and towering mountains. The island was characterized by numerous inland lakes that provided a fertile environment for a wide array of plant and Rahi life to flourish.
The Bukgu inhabitants of Mazra Nui held a deep appreciation for the beauty of plants and invested significant efforts to maintain their gardens and natural surroundings. The few cities that existed on the island were carefully constructed to harmonize with and protect the natural environment.
Port of Mazra Nui[]
The Port of Mazra Nui served as the primary trade center within the Matoran Universe, and it was managed by the Bukgu. This bustling port facilitated the transportation of thousands of vessels and goods on a daily basis.
In contrast to the rest of Mazra Nui, the Port was a highly industrialized area. The Bukgu made a deliberate effort to centralize all commercial activities within the port, minimizing the potential contamination and disruption of the island's pristine surroundings.
Nui-Koro[]
Nui-Koro was a village located within Mazra Nui, serving as the primary residence for the Matoran inhabitants of the island. It was led by Turaga Izwin, who provided guidance and leadership to the Matoran community.
