The Mask of Scavenging, also known as the Mask of Vulture, is a Kanohi that allowed its user to drain the life energies from the corpses of recently deceased beings. This strengthens the bearer upon usage.

The Mask of Scavenging traces its origins back to some of the earliest mask-making techniques adopted on Spherus Magna, where an unclear number of masks were created by the Great Beings.
Due to its power to drain the life forces of recently deceased beings, the mask was considered immoral by Matoran Crafters.
Unfettered by the restraints of the Matoran conscience, Makuta Icarax wore a Mask of Scavenging before eventually discarding it to bear the Kanohi Kraahkan. The Shadow Matoran, Vultraz, was also known to have worn a Mask of Scavenging.
