The Mask of Rahi Control was a Kanohi that allowed the user to compel or instruct certain breeds of Rahi. Once the Kanohi was activated, the bearer could reach out telepathically and compel any nearby Rahi to carry out basic commands. Affording the user a greater degree of influence than the Zatth, the Mask of Rahi Control was less effective against insects and markedly could not telepathically override a Rahi's own survival instincts.
Furthermore, the Mask of Rahi Control had extremely limited effects on intelligent Rahi species, such as Keetongu and the Krakha.
History[]
The Mask of Rahi Control traces its origins back back to some of the earliest mask-making techniques adopted on Spherus Magna, where an unclear number of the Kanohi were created for the Matoran populace. At this point in the history of the Matoran Universe, the Mask of Rahi Control became heavily associated with Bo-Matoran.
Over the 100,000 year span of the Matoran Universe's functionality, the Mask of Rahi Control became a particularly rarer Kanohi, proving more difficult to forge than the Kanohi Zatth. Favored in particular by Rahi experts, Toa of Plant Life have come to respect the mask and its associations with the Rahi kingdom.
Following his inauguration as a Toa Hagah, Kualus was known to have been presented with a Mask of Rahi Control, which was crafted in the shape of an unknown Kanohi, honoring a past Toa.
In Metru Nui, Masks of Rahi Control could crafted with relative ease using Freeze, Weaken, Regeneration and Remove Poison Kanoka disks, usually originating from Ta-Metru. Requiring specific Kanoka disks to manufacture and generally considered to be outlawed, the Kanohi was a typically uncommon mask in Metru Nui, with only a handful of Mask Makers either willing or able to craft it.
