The Mask of Biomechanics was a Kanohi Mask of Power that allowed users to manipulate mechanical targets. The level of influence was conventionally restricted to a singular target, though Great versions of the Kanohi could command multiple devices depending on the complexity of the subjects and the range between them.
In combat, the mask could be used to slow down opponents or tamper with their equipment. As such, the Mask of Biomechanics could only be used on inanimate circuitry and could not be used to manipulate the armor or mechanical composition of a living target.
History[]
The Mask of Biomechanics traces its origins back to some of the earliest mask-making techniques adopted on Spherus Magna, where an unclear number of them were created for the Matoran populace. Though the initial purpose behind these is currently known, it is commonly believed that they were designed to aid in troubleshooting issues within the worlds's systems. At this point in the history of the Matoran Universe, it became heavily associated with Fe-Matoran, who held the mask up as a symbol of their industrial contributions. The Le-Matoran and their Fa-Matoran partners in Metru Nui would also associate the Mask with their works in the Chute systems at a later date.
Over the 100,000 year span of the Matoran Universe's functionality, this mask became a somewhat uncommon Kanohi. While the Metruian formula is currently unknown to outsiders, it is believed that the component disks often originated from Le-Metru or Ta-Metru. After the invention of the Vahki, Dume became wiry of the potential abuse the Mask of Biomechanics could inflict on the robotic enforcers. He passed laws that heavily regulated the powered variants of it, making them a rarity in the city's latter years.
Outside of Metru Nui, the Mask of Biomechanics often found itself in the hands of engineers and miners, using it to search for problems with their equipment. The criminal underworld also employed its powers for cracking safes and bypassing other security measures.
Example Usage[]
Some mines allowed usage of the Mask to maintain vehicles and automated systems.
