Marendar is a living weapon created by the Great Beings to eliminate Toa. It was later stolen and reprogrammed by Trazark to serve him.

History[]
Wary of the threat the Toa could potentially pose to the inhabitants of Spherus Magna if they came into conflict, the Great Beings created a living weapon to hunt down and destroy Toa. They named it Marendar, after an Agori word meaning "salvation." Marendar was placed in a vault beneath Bara Magna to be released if the Toa went rogue.
However, Trazark managed to find the vault when he travelled to Bara Magna over a century later. With careful precision, he reprogrammed Marendar into a loyal minion. Marendar currently awaits the day it can kill Toa for the pure pleasure of it.

Marendar is a sapient, humanoid, biomechanical being. It is somewhat bigger than a Toa.
Marendar tracks down Toa by detecting their Toa Power and has a natural resistance to any elemental powers. The Great Beings believed that no Toa Team could stand up against it.
