Mantax is one of four Selavians who attempted to overthrow the Brotherhood of Makuta, currently a member of the Infernal Legion.
Biography[]
Early life[]
1000 years before the Great Cataclysm War, Mantax was stationed on Odina and instructed to train Toa and Makuta for combat. Mantax carried out his mission, though grew bored of teaching and not acting. He began to intentionally train weaknesses into the Makuta, planning to exploit the weakness at a later date.
Mantax was relieved of duty by the Brotherhood of Makuta and placed very south of the Great Spirit Robot, informed that he had to train the Rekridor inhabiting the island. When he arrived, Mantax was not surprised to find the island empty. Not wanting to exploit their weakness yet, he turned a blind eye to the Brotherhood of Makuta's plans and remained on the island.
League of Kings[]
Pridak approached Mantax and recruited him to his group, the League of Kings. The four Selavian raided Xia for weapons and masks, encountering Abaddon. Mantax stole only a few weapons and a Great Volitak. Abaddon later encountered the League of Kings again and wiped their memory of him.
When Pridak lead the League of Kings into battle against the Brotherhood of Makuta, Mantax fought along side the other Selavians. The group were defeated, and Mantax found himself imprisoned on the same island he was sent to before.
The group was betrayed by Carapar, who gave up their location to the Order of Mata Nui. The Order of Mata Nui took Mantax's weapons, though he put up no struggle. He watched as Pridak was knocked unconscious. Mantax remained in the prison on the island, eventually recruited to join Abaddon's Infernal Legion.
Infernal Legion[]
Mantax remained at the base of the Infernal Legion, re-armed with weapons.
Stealing the Nui Stone[]
Mantax followed Naho and Tuyet when they found the Nui Stone. He confronted the duo when they entered the room with the Nui Stone and easily overpowered Tuyet. Mantax was knocked over briefly by Naho, but impaled Tuyet and left with her body and the Nui Stone.
Personality and traits[]
Mantax is slow moving and not aggressive. He is patient with others, though mostly ignores the thoughts and opinions of anyone who wasn't Selavian. Mantax believes that if he waits, he will be rewarded.
As a Selavian, Mantax craved conquest and power. Although he planned to overthrow the Brotherhood of Makuta, he was meticulous with his planning and took years to devise anything.
Powers and equipment[]
Mantax carried a wrist blade and two swords, usually tied on his back. He used the wrist blades and his claws in combat. From the League of King's raid on Xia, Mantax wore the Great Mask Volitak, the Mask of Stealth. He used the mask to sneak up on unsuspecting opponents, albeit rarely using the mask at all.
