The Kanohi Makiti is the Great Mask of Shape-Shifting.
History[]
The original Makiti was created by an unknown being, but was later developed and examined by the Order of Mata Nui to help them spy on their enemies. eventually, the Order had their agents on Xia, Metru Nui, and Nynrah develop more of these masks for a select few members. The Makiti was eventually discovered by someone outside the Order, who sold the information out, resulting in the mask being mass-produced.
Powers[]
When activated, the Makiti transforms it user into whatever being they wish. Unlike the Mahiki, Great Mask of Illusion, there is no know size limit the wearer can reach, as the Mask can transform someone into something as large as a Tahtorak, or as small as a Protodite if they wished. Also, the true power of shape-shifting remains with the mask even when it is turned into a noble mask.
In addition to shape-shifting, the Makiti also grants the wearer access to the abilities of the being they are impersonating.
However, the Makiti does have its own set of weaknesses. Though using the Makiti for a few hours or days constantly won't have any ill effects, using the mask any longer than that could eventually result in the wearer's mind being affected. In simple, prolonged usage of the mask could potentially result in the wearer coming to believe that they are actually the person they are impersonating.
Kanohi Makiti can be made from Reconstruction at Random, Regeneration, and Weaken Kanoka.
Example Usage[]
- Toa Skydrax used his Makiti to turn himself into a Klaak in The Hydros Chronicles.
