Lhikan was a legendary Toa of Fire and the leader of the Toa Mangai.
History[]
Core Universe[]
Lhikan began life as a Ta-Matoran craftsman who lived in a small village on the Northern Continent. Around 17,500 years ago, Toa Dume rescued him from danger. Ten thousand years later, Lhikan was transformed into a Toa of Fire and joined a team of Toa assigned to guard the Makoki Stone at a Toa Fortress. When the fortress was attacked by Frostelus, Lhikan's leader ordered him to retrieve the Makoki Stone and escape. However, when Lhikan went for the Makoki Stone, it had already been stolen by the Skakdi Vezok.[1]
Three thousand years later, Lhikan was among a group of Toa that came to Metru Nui to fend off against the Kanohi Dragon. After a month-long battle, the Toa defeated the Kanohi Dragon and saw it off to Xia. They then agreed to stay behind on Metru Nui to serve as its defenders, becoming known as the Toa Mangai.[1] As time went on, Lhikan's teammates headed off on separate missions, leaving him, Nidhiki, and Tuyet as the Great City's only protectors.
Around 3,500 years ago, Lhikan and Nidhiki investigated a series of Matoran murders; these dead Matoran had all been found with tablets that had Tuyet's name on them. Tuyet then revealed to Lhikan that she was in possession of the Nui Stone and the Dark Hunters were after her for it. Following a confrontation with the Dark Hunters, Lhikan realized that Tuyet was the true culprit behind the murders. He and Nidhiki then confronted her and, after a battle with the Nui Stone-powered Toa of Water, defeated their corrupted sister. Tuyet was then imprisoned at the Coliseum, though she was later whisked away by Botar.[2]

Empire of Makuta Universe[]
In an alternate universe, Lhikan had selected Nuhrii, Vhisola, Orkahm, Ahkmou, Tehutti, and Ehrye to become the Toa Metru. They ultimately failed to stop Makuta Teridax and prevent the Great Cataclysm and, along with Turaga Lhikan, went into hiding after the Makuta seized control of Metru Nui.[3]
Six months later, Turaga Lhikan met with several Matoran to form a resistance against the Makuta and convinced them to accept help from the disgraced Toa Metru. Ultimately, the Toa were able to defeat Makuta Teridax and drive him off Metru Nui.[3] Afterwards, Lhikan and the freed Turaga Dume become joint leaders of the City of Legends.[4]
