Lewok was the demure Toa Powai of Air on Powai Nui. Originally a Le-Matoran hailing from Metru Nui and later a forest ranger for the Ranger's Guild, they later had a run-in with the aggressive Wraith Syndicate. This kickstarted a conflict on the island that resulted in them becoming a Toa, helping to form the Toa Powai. Together, they and their siblings successfully vanquished the Syndicate from the island.

As a Le-Matoran, Lewok had blood red eyes and heartlight and dark green, lime green, and dark grey armor. As a forest ranger, they wore a green strap to hold their rangery rifle and other equipment. Being genderfluid, they used the orientation of their strap to signal their current pronouns to those who knew them.

To their chagrin, their transformation into a Toa nullified this usage by assimilating their bandolier into their armor. They had this fixed as soon as the Wraith Syndicate had been defeated. Aside from this, and the absence of the dark grey, this form was highly unremarkable.

During their later armor modification, they opted to have theirs mimic Rahi countershading, moving most of the lime green to the frontside and the dark green to their backside. They adopted a chain strap for their new rifle, which also carried a new color-changing gem (courtesy of Corduk) to signal their pronouns at the time. To increase visibility for emergency response purposes, they donned a maroon scarf which often covered the lower half of their mask.

Powers and Equipment[]

As a Le-Matoran, Lewok possessed inactive Air powers, which made them more agile while in elevated structures but awkward and clumsy while standing on flat ground. When they became a Toa, they gained full access to these powers, allowing them to create, manipulate, and absorb air. Using these powers, they could generate winds of varying ferocities, move objects with wind, and create vacuums. They were adept at using their abilities to detect things by observing their air displacement.

Lewok initially wore a Great Kanohi Vehere, the Mask of Transmission, which allowed them to telepathically communicate with those they knew over long distances. After the boom of radio technology on Powai Nui, however, they relegated it to a secondary mask, and began wearing a Great Duzsik, the Mask of Healing. This mask allowed them to heal the injures and ailments of other biomechanical beings, so long as they had good enough knowledge their patient's condition.

For a Toa Tool, Lewok initially wielded the Repeller Blade, a lightweight, dual-bladed weapon. They could deflect attacks with it, spinning it at high speeds with their Elemental powers. Later, Detras crafted for them a larger, dually Axanar- and air-propelled Helix Rifle. A callback to their Matoran occupation's ranger rifle, its bayonet and bladed stock gave it modest melee capabilities, if only for self-defense.

As a former ranger, Lewok was trained in first aid and emergency response, outdoor survival, and riflery. They were also knowledgeable in Powai Nuian ecology, herbology, and zoology. This breadth of knowledge notably included medical knowledge, which greatly assisted them with their Duzsik. Despite wielding an undoubtably deadly weapon, they were rather pacifistic, preferring to avoid outright conflict. Being a follower of the Toa Code, their rifle’s true power came not in deadliness but in its applications with their Air powers. Lewok could charge rounds with Elemental energy to generate fierce vortices and bend their trajectories. They could even fire nonlethal, air-based projectiles using the force from blank rounds.

Personality and Traits[]

Unlike the typical Toa of Air, Lewok was quiet and timid. They had difficulties saying "no" to people and were selfless to a fault, constantly putting the needs of others over their own needs.

Trivia[]

  • Lewok was genderfluid, and used either he/him or she/her pronouns, switching accordingly between them as their gender identity fluctuated. In writing about them, or when they were not present, they preferred that they/them be used; as such, this article uses those pronouns.
  • They were the shortest and physically weakest of the Toa Powai.
  • Due to their dislike for attention and preference for working in the wilderness outside villages, the Le-Matoran gave them the title of Toa Rikika, Matoran for "spirit of the woods".
