Leran is a Le-Matoran who was sent to Karzahni to be "repaired."
History[]
Created as a Le-Matoran, Leran was placed on the Southern Continent. At some point in his life, Leran sustained a grievous injury and was sent to the realm of Karzahni to be repaired. However, Karzahni's skills at repair were amateurish and Leran was rebuilt into an inferior form. When Turaga refused to send any more Matoran to Karzahni's land, a furious Karzahni forbade any of the Matoran in his land to leave, submitting them to a life of eternal labor.
After Karzahni had vacated the island to pursue the Toa Inika, Leran and his fellow Matoran were rescued by the Toa Nuva and convinced to leave to Metru Nui.[1] Upon arriving in Metru Nui, Leran found a new home in Le-Metru and had his mask replaced with a powerless Kanohi Elda, hoping to distance himself from his life in Karzahni. After living through Makuta Teridax's Reign of Shadows and the subsequent Battle of Bara Magna, Leran migrated to the restored Spherus Magna.

Leran was a Le-Matoran from the Southern Continent. At some point, he was given a Toa Stone by Turaga Virun and was transformed into a Toa of Air. After the restoration of Spherus Magna, Leran was part of a team of rookie Toa trained by Axonn.[2]

As a Le-Matoran, Leran wore a powerless Kanohi Miru. When Leran was rebuilt by Karzahni, his original mask was replaced with a powerless Mask of Aging. After being freed from Karzahni's rule, Leran replaced it with a Kanohi Elda.
In the Legacy Alternate Universe, Leran was never sent to Karzahni and therefore his Kanohi Miru was never replaced. When he transformed into a Toa, it became a Great Mask of Levitation.
Trivia[]
- Leran was initially created as a Toa of Air who led Makuta Chirox's Toa Hagah team. When he appeared in BIONICLE Legacy, he was slightly reimagined to be a novice Toa on Spherus Magna. His final iteration was as a Le-Matoran from Karzahni, specifically the one depicted wearing a Mask of Aging in BIONICLE World, although his previous iterations still potentially exist in alternate universes.
- The fact that Leran has worn an Elda and a Mask of Aging at separate points in his life is a reference to the fact that the Mask of Aging was initially canonized as an inorganic Elda by Greg Farshtey.
