Laserbeak is one of Meltdown's many mutants.
Biography[]
Long ago, on the planet of Avaron, there existed various clans. Each prayed to their own divine entity. These clans were very powerful, but none were as powerful as the Bird Clan. With their knowledge of the skies and ability to fly, they were not to be taken lightly.
One day, the planet was invaded by horrifying creatures. These were Meltdown and his mutants. Him and his mutants set out to mutate more into his warrior slaves. One member of the Bird Clan attacked one of the mutants. This mutant was none other than Meltdown's second-in-command: Screechwing. Screechwing then blasted an orb of mutagenic energy at the attacker. The warrior then tried to fly away. Stomping Tree caught the Bird using a vine whip. The warrior was brought back to the ground. Meltdown placed a hand on the warrior's chest and begun the mutation.
Oddly enough, the warrior's appearance did not change that much. All that really happened was that he grew talons, a more pronounced beak, and his neck grew slightly longer. His mind was corrupted and his memory of anything before the mutation was completely wiped. Meltdown named this new mutant "Laserbeak".
Before departing, Laserbeak found a green whip, which was not the same as Stomping Tree's vine whip. Laserbeak decided to keep it for himself. Bonehead and Neverest would make Laserbeak a Mutation Blaster. Eventually, he would be given a partner: a mutated reanimated corpse called Dedansyde. Together, they mutated countless people into warriors for Meltdown.
Abilities, Traits, and Tools[]
Laserbeak is part bird, meaning he can fly to incredible heights. He was given a thruster to increase his flying abilities. While his mind was corrupted, his intelligence increased, though he is not as smart as Bonehead or Neverest. He has exemplary eyesight, this is because he is not just part bird, but part bird of prey.
Laserbeak carries a green whip and a Mutation Blaster. His whip is useful for grappling things and restraining creatures. His Mutation Blaster was developed by Bonehead and Neverest. The blaster works by having two points facing each other, so the energy can converge into one point. Then, the mutation builds into an orb that can be charged for up to six seconds. After six seconds, the orb automatically fires. Bonehead and Neverest designed this as a failsafe to prevent harm to the user. Laserbeak also has razor-sharp talons on his feet. He often perches on the shoulders of his victims and digs the talons in to the victim's armor. Laserbeak is very strong and can lift large objects merely with his feet. Of course, his powers of flight allow him to do this.
