Kragator’s Sword as it is currently referred to, is the primary symbol of the Kritor Alliance/Empire. The sword represents the legacy of Emperor Kragator and ownership of the sword as well as the Mask of No Powers represents inheritance of the kingdom.
Description[]
The sword has several functions. The sword is designed such that the primary grips rest behind the sword, allowing use of either the blade function or the prongs on the opposite end. The sword is also wide enough to allow for use as a shield.
When in use by a Toa-sized warrior, the sword can conduct elemental powers. The sword can also be used as a surfboard/glider to ride most elements. A Toa-sized warrior is also capable of strapping the sword to their backs to allow for extra protection. Kragator is too large to make use of any of these particular functions, however.
History[]
How the sword came into existence is unknown to most inhabitants of the Matoran Universe; some sources say it was the last of a set of four weapons, each for one of the four Archcommanders of the Hand of Artakha; others say it was gift from the natives of Bythrain when Kragator conquered the island for the Kritors. Popular Kritor legend holds that the Great Beings themselves presented Kragator with the sword not long after the formation of the Kritor Alliance.
At least first of these is correct (although the third could easily also be true). Kragator’s Sword is one of four Great Swords owned by each of the four Archcommanders. He’s owned it since his service in the Hand of Artakha until now. When Helryx came out of hiding, brandishing a very similar sword, those who knew the legend of the Archcommanders realized the truth behind the sword’s origins.
While he owns many weapons of all varieties, this sword is his preferred weapon. Its uses of a weapon as well as a shield are regarded as symbolic by the Kritors of their organization, and as such, it is the emblem of the empire.
Example Usage[]
Kragator often uses his sword in executions as well as in battle. He sometimes straps it on his body to make use of its shield function as an armor piece.
