History[]
Kraata-Kal is the result of an experiment performed by Makuta Teridax, when he exposed a Kraata slug to the same substance that was used to transform Krana into Krana-Kal. This resulted in a being of much higher intelligence than the average Kraata being created. Teridax also constructed a specialized suit of armor for Kraata-Kal, which included a number of unique weapons.
Kraata-Kal was later loaned over to the Dark Hunters by the Brotherhood, ultimately enjoying his work so much that he chose to defect. Because of this, Teridax never attempted to make more.
Kraata-Kal would often ignore mission objectives in pursuit of his own personal profit. As punishment for this habit, Ombrista once permitted Vezok to attack him and damage his armor. Kraata-Kal later joined Amphibax and Sentrakh in tracking down the Piraka following their desertion of the organization. However, they were unable to find them in their search, and returned back to Odina when ordered by Ombrista to do so.
Abilities and Traits[]
Kraata-Kal has extremely high intelligence, and is very ambitious, but is also known to be very stubborn and rebellious. He has a degree of elemental control over Shadow, Water, and Fire, along with metallic protodermis armor larger and more durable than standard Rahkshi armor. He is also capable of speech. Much like the Bohrok-Kal, the nature of his transformation has resulted in his independence from his creator. In spite of the fact that Kraata are creatures of pure shadow, Kraata-Kal does possess a small amount of inner Light as a result of his mutation.
