The Incendiary was a heat-based weapon of mass destruction developed by the Brotherhood of Makuta weapons engineer Drakah. It was first utilized against Leskya Nui in a war against the island, where it obliterated the island and left few survivors.

History[]

Due to the threat that Toa of Iron and Magnetism posed to Makuta, Teridax tasked Makuta Antharahk with destroying Leskya Nui, a member of the Southern Island chains which contained a large population of Fa-Matoran. Having seen that the island was already resilient against the biological weapons he had used against them, Antharahk decided that firepower was needed in order to destroy the island. He enlisted the help of Drakah, a Makuta weapons engineer, who collaborated with him to develop various weapons. Most notably, the two created the War Mongrel, type of Kraata-powered war machine which could be produced by the hundreds and commanded with ease.

After the first War Mongrel platoons did battle against the inhabitants of Leskya Nui, Drakah got to work developing a weapon of mass destruction. It was during this time that she developed a device that could produce massive amounts of energy very quickly. She perfected this design into a weapon which she nicknamed the Incendiary which she theorized was capable of obliterating small villages. Almost immediately, she convinced Antharahk to use it in an attack on Leskya Nui's capital city. Said attack was a success, and the weapon was detonated for the first time. Rather than destroying only the capital, however, its blast radius spanned the entire island, killing off a massive majority of its inhabitants instantaneously.

Although Antharahk was disappointed by this result, Drakah was elated, even visiting the desolated island herself to relish in the destruction she had caused. Word of this event spread throughout the Brotherhood of Makuta, earning Drakah the nickname "Mistress of the Burning Lands."
