Hyralisk was a planet, and the homeworld of the Hyralise species. It is now destroyed.
History[]
Hyralisk is a planet first formed approximately eight billion years ago. Its closeness to the system's sun resulted in the surface being very dry and arid, with little moisture. Consequently, the only species that managed to evolve were reptilian in nature and lived underground. The Sand Serpent was the first documented life form on the planet, followed by first contact with the Hyralise people.
The planet was gradually improved and terraformed as Hyralise technology improved, and small amounts of Hyralise began living on the surface (although Herl'Be'Zaatch culled those living above ground). The planet's underground was soon made into a complex of tunnels and passageways, with the Hyralise mainly living underground.
When Teridax had finished his subjugation and genocide of the Hyralise people, he used a planet cracker to destroy Hyralisk. Some efforts have been made to restore the planet by mining companies interested in accessing the resources within its core, but they have so far been unsuccessful.

Climate[]
Hyralisk had a rainfall of around 1 meter per year, although much of it would evaporate back into the atmosphere before hitting the ground. Most water that existed was underground, having been siphoned off from above ground over time. The desert environment of the planet made it nigh impossible for anyone not immune to extreme heat to survive on the surface, although terraforming efforts later made the surface more habitable.
