Life as a Matoran[]
Gavla was created over 100,000 years ago by the Great Beings. She was later transported to Karda Nui, where she lived as a villager. Later, she, along with Solek, Tanma, Photok, Raidak, and Kirop, was chased by the Makuta into the Karda Nui Swamp. Raidak was captured and tortured in order to lure his friends out of hiding. He was killed when this plot failed. Three others- Tanma, Photok, and Kirop- were killed by Makuta. Gavla shook Chirox, who was chasing them at the time, off of hers and Solek's trail by creating Light Holograms of them which flew in the opposite direction. Unfortunately, the two Av-Matoran were caught by Antroz. She and Solek were submerged in Pit Mutagen by the red Makuta, who shot the waters with electricity, super-charging the Swamp Mutagen, and causing both Av-Matoran to become Toa.
Life as a Toa[]
Soon after her transformation, Gavla was attacked by Makuta Krika, who chased her to a large canyon in the Karda Nui Swamp. There, she saw the remnants of a battle scene between six Makuta and two Toa-like beings, one white and the other gold. When Krika pushed her off of a lip of the cliff, she discovered that her Dual Wingblades functioned not only as weapons, but also as glider wings. As she glided down towards the two beings, the white-colored Toa collapsed. Upon landing, the golden being introduced himself as Tornak and informed her that the white Toa was in fact Solek, who had also been transformed. After some conversation, Tornak revived Solek, who had passed out from shock, and they began to travel towards the Codrex, where Tornak intended to send a message to the Great Spirit, Mata Nui. If this plan failed, the Great Being would destroy the entire Universe to stop Teridax from using his powers to dominate other worlds. On their way, they were attacked by a Toa named Altrin, who wanted to prevent the coming destruction. The Toa engaged Tornak in battle, wounding him with his blade, which absorbed part of Altrin's life force. Another Toa, Siclonus, appeared, informing Gavla and Solek that he had been attacked by Altrin, and told the two Toa of Light that they should not trust him. While Tornak awoke and battled Altrin a second time, Gavla and Solek were attacked by Makuta. During the fight, Mutran cut off Gavla's arm, and she died from blood loss.
Powers and Abilities[]
As a Toa of Light, Gavla could control, create, and absorb all forms of light. Her Kanohi Rau enabled her to translate any and all languages.
Trivia[]
- When Gavla became a Toa, the Swamp Mutagen caused her Armor to become permanently blue.
