As some of you may have noticed, yesterday I uploaded four species pages. While these are canon species, they are unnamed ones and have little more than three sentences of information on them on BS01. My question is: should I apply the canon template?

Two days ago I asked MAZEKA about it and he seemed to think it would be fine, since they are based on canon information. However, not long after I uploaded the pages, BionicleChicken and I were chatting and he felt that the template should be removed. While the pages are within the bounds of a “Canon” page, as you can tell, probably 9/10ths of it is little more than head-canon.

On this wiki, I can only find one instance where someone did something similar and added the trueinfo tag (although the Hero Agori doesn’t have a name in canon, Virotus can be found under the Canon Category) as opposed to lots of similar articles without the tag (such as the species page Aquavian).

What do you guys think? Are those species pages appropriate pages for the trueinfo tag? (I honestly would not mind removing it; I just want to get everyone on the same page for this policy.)

Personally, I think its fine. The template does state it has fanon added to it, after all.

This'll probably sound confusing but the pages Gonel created is more fanon written to fit into canon rather than canon with fanon info. The information and names aren't canonized and the template leads to nonexistent biosector pages. Plus by that logic, Chalk, all pages that aren't taking place within an AU can have a Trueinfo template because they have canon events within them.

... good point. I suppose I should've given it more than a minute's thought.

In that case, either remove it or go to the trouble of making a brand-spankin'-new template that's sort of the reverse of Trueinfo... probably just remove it.

Alright, I figured out how to manipulate the link in the tag to locate the appropriate category within the Unnamed Species page (check out Rekridor's link). But I won't dispute the fanon/canon point. HAIL DENMARK 23:47, June 6, 2016 (UTC)
