Fortaan is a member of Axonn's species and former member of the Hand of Artakha.
History[]
Fortaan was created early on in the history of the Matoran Universe and came to serve as a member of the Hand of Artakha, serving alongside his fellow Ankorian Axonn. After the organization was disbanded, Fortaan returned to his homeland of Ankoria and became a warlord. At some point, he fell in battle, leading many - including Axonn - to believe he was dead.
Fortaan had in fact survived and was eventually found by his former comrades from the Hand, who had refused to join its successor, the Order of Mata Nui. After being gathered by Toa Mathus, the reorganized Hand of Artakha planned to make its move against the Order of Mata Nui. When the time came however, the Hand were swiftly defeated by the Order and its members were sent to the Pit, where Fortaan was mutated by the mutagenic waters.
What fate had befallen Fortaan by the time of the reformation of Spherus Magna remains unknown.
Empire of Makuta Universe[]
Six months after the Great Cataclysm, the Hand of Artakha was stationed on Voya Nui, where Fortaan encountered his former comrade Axonn. After Mallake's return, Fortaan and the others joined him in attacking the realm of Artakha and coming into conflict with the Brotherhood of Makuta. The battle was ended when the Makuta's forces were driven away from Artakha and Botar arrived to take Fortaan and the others away.
Abilities and Traits[]
Like other members of his species, Fortaan is fueled by rage and carries strength equal to that of a Makuta. He also has healing powers, though he rarely uses them due to his disdain for most other beings, including his comrades.
Masks and Tools[]
Fortaan wears a Great Kanohi Sanok, the Mask of Accuracy. He also carried a large, wicked-looking blade.
