"So what is this place exactly?"
"Well, it's hard to explain really. Simplified version is that the Exalted Beings realized that since the different timelines and dimensions co-exists, there must be something to connect them. And there was. So they went there and then created this. A place where you could theoretically go anywhere, anytime. But since every second, a new timeline or dimension is created, this place is always expanding."
"So why does it look like a labyrinth?"
"Well, it's not really. Some sees it as a long tower, others a big jungle. It sounds very odd, I know, but my theory is that we cannot comprehend what this place is, so our mind makes it look like something we could. So a labyrinth for us. And since "The Labyrinth" is so much easier to say than "Dimensional Plane of Time and Space", we just go with it."

Dimensional Plane of Time and Space or The Labyrinth is a massive, always expanding location that exists between every dimension and timeline.

History

Before Exalted Beings created the Great Beings, they started to wonder, what would happen if they would travel between dimensions and was there anything between them. After a long investigation, they realized that every time they jumped between the dimensions, for a split-second, they entered to plane, which they nicknamed "Dimensional Plane of Time and Space. After being able to enter there for a longer time, they started to mold that dimension and used beings called Mapmakers to help them. Since time didn't exist there, they also realized that they could travel between different timelines too.

Before long, the dimension became to resemble a Labyrinth for the mapmakers, so they started to call it that. Exalted Beings never told them, how they saw the plane. Since they knew that some would use The Labyrinth for their own selfish purposes, they made so that the "doorways" to different timelines and dimensions would always last for only few seconds and that two doorways to same dimension/timeline would never be near each other.

Landscape

The Workshop

Is a massive place, were Exalted Beings kept their armory and some of their failed creations. It is not really a workshop, but since many beings sees it as a massive workshop that has a large jungle with a mountain in a center of it, they just call it "The Workshop". Gjarke and numerous Lohrika live here.

The Doorways

The Doorways are "doors" that lead to different dimensions. They never are active to one dimension for long (4,5123 seconds as calculated by Dhaile) and are never near another doorway that leads to same dimension. As Dhaile puts it, if you see two different doorways, one could lead to a dimension where "Mata Nui never left Spherus Magna" and the next one could lead to "10 000 years later, where Trem Krom is the Matoran Universe".

Since time doesn't exist here, one cannot slow time to make the doorways last longer to one particular dimension.
