Diebeq is a Hordika agent of the Order of Mata Nui, and a former member of the Hand of Artakha.
History[]
In the early years of the Matoran Universe, Diebeq served as a member of the Hand of Artakha before receiving an invitation from Helryx to join the Order of Mata Nui.
As destiny would have it, Diebeq found himself in Karda Nui to witness a pivotal moment — the Toa Mata taking refuge within the Codrex before the advent of the Energy Storms. It was then that he was approached by Great Beings, who entrusted him with a covert mission — to safeguard the Codrex's Keystone by removing it from the Universe Core. Faithfully executing this charge, Diebeq preserved the secret of his possession of the Keystone, concealing it from all, including his fellow companions within the Order.
Over the ensuing centuries, Diebeq served as a messenger of the Order of Mata Nui, executing a variety of assignments. Notably, he played a vital role in the Time Slip, helping in the relocation of disguised Av-Matoran to diverse corners of the universe. Among these, he was responsible for transferring Takua to the island-city of Metru Nui.
Diebeq took up a permanent post in Metru Nui thereafter, serving as a sentinel. At a certain point, he witnessed the secret migration of the fabled Rahi known as Keetongu to Ko-Metru. In order to subtly disclose this, Diebeq etched a cryptic tablet alluding to Keetongu's whereabouts, placing it within the Great Temple.
Hordika Transformation[]
Centuries later, Makuta Teridax began orchestrating an assault against the Great Spirit Mata Nui. In response, Mata Nui manipulated the stars above Metru Nui, deceiving Teridax about the true identity of the destined Toa Metru. Tasked by the Order, Diebeq undertook the responsibility of planting false evidence throughout Metru Nui to bolster Mata Nui's deception. However, despite these efforts, Teridax's assault proved victorious, plunging the Great Spirit into a deep sleep.
In the wake of this upheaval, Metru Nui fell into disarray, ravaged by the Great Cataclysm and invaded by the Visorak horde. Diebeq fell into the clutches of the horde and was subjected to Hordika Venom, which transformed him into his current state. Escaping his captors, Diebeq encountered a group of Gemstone Frogs, who embraced him as one of their own and helped him master his new Hordika nature.
Before departing from Metru Nui, Diebeq sought Keetongu, beseeching the mighty Rahi to cure him of his Hordika affliction. Yet, to Diebeq's astonishment, Keetongu convinced him that embracing his Hordika side was, in fact, a better path.
After Metru Nui[]
In the subsequent eons, alongside his regular duties, Diebeq journeyed across the universe, offering aid to victims of the Visorak. Among these, he played a role in mentoring Peduik, a fellow Order member, towards reconciliation with his own Hordika nature. He also encountered a gravely wounded Tahtorak during his travels, who divulged the revelation that the Tahtorak on Zakaz had grown weary of the Skakdi's infighting and were plotting their extinction.
Ultimately, Diebeq found himself drawn back to Karda Nui, where he took decisive action, fragmenting the Keystone into six parts and hiding them in various locations, knowing that they would be needed in the future reawakening of Mata Nui.
During the Destiny War, Diebeq was entrusted with the dissemination of false information on Stelt, exposing the Order's supposed involvement in transforming the Great Furnace of Metru Nui into a virus works. Furthermore, he was pivotal in enlisting Keetongu's help in the conflict, under Helryx's pledge to eradicate the Visorak forever.
Spherus Magna[]
Having survived the Reign of Shadows, Diebeq emerged into a new era following Teridax's death. Emigrating from the Matoran Universe to Spherus Magna, he was stationed in Xianori to act as a covert operative of the Order, monitoring and reporting on unfolding events within the kingdom. When the Xianori Rebellion erupted, Diebeq was strictly forbidden from intervening.
Most recently, Diebeq was unexpectedly visited by an alternate version of himself, coming from another universe.
Alternate Universes[]
Pit Prisoner[]

In an alternate universe, Diebeq's colleagues in the Order discovered his possession of the Keystone. Branding him a traitor, they took the Keystone from him and condemned him to the Pit to pay for his deception. This Diebeq remained in his cell for the next few thousand years, until the Great Cataclysm occurred and allowed him to swim out into the open where he was mutated by the mutagen in the waters. This Diebeq commanded an army of frog Rahi, which included mutant Ghekula.
Abilities and Traits[]
Diebeq is an individual endowed with analytical prowess, a profound sense of responsibility, and a remarkable ability to foster harmony. Deeply attuned to the principles of equilibrium and unity, he finds enlightenment within the delicate interplay of these forces.
The ordeal that resulted in Diebeq's transformation into a Hordika had a profound impact on both his physical form and his psyche. He grappled with the primal instincts that accompanied his altered state. Nevertheless, through meditation and introspection, he managed to make peace with the beast within him, thus preserving his mind and allowing him to navigate the world as a Hordika.
Diebeq has an affinity for frog-like Rahi, particularly Gemstone Frogs. His Hordika appearance resonates with these creatures, who recognize him as a leader. In this symbiotic relationship, Diebeq discovered a profound kinship with these ethereal beings.
Powers[]
Diebeq hails from a species renowned for their mastery of an enigmatic art, allowing them to traverse vast distances quickly by moving slowly. This technique grants him the illusion of moving at supersonic speeds, although the precise mechanics and limitations of this ability remain a mystery.
As a Hordika, Diebeq has heightened senses. He can also manifest a highly venomous Rhotuka from his launcher, capable of inflicting grave sickness or even proving fatal to adversaries. The organic portions of his body are coated with a slimy film, allowing him to slip across surfaces and deflect certain attacks.
Like all members of the Order of Mata Nui, Diebeq's mind is fortified against all attempts at telepathic intrusion and mental aggression.
Equipment[]
Diebeq is armed with a gem-studded staff that can fire shadow bolts. He can also use it to release a smoke-like energy cloud and disappear from view.
Additionally, Diebeq owns a lightly-armored drone equipped with a Midak Skyblaster, which assists him in combat and reconnaissance.
