The Deities were five beings, created by Shadowmaster, for the purpose of creating and maintaining his intended chaotic world.
History[]
The deities were created by Shadowmaster after his outcast from the upper realms. He intended for them to create his own, twisted universe to rule. However, Koratak, the Deity of Creation, with a moral code of his own, opposed his creator's malicious intentions, and created a universe based upon peace and benevolent virtues, aided by his brother Coronus who, commanding the power of life, gave life to all of his brother's creations. When Protanus and Kraahtan also returned, having recovered Sol from imprisonment, they too aided their brother.
Angered by the deities' betrayal, Shadowmaster set out to bring an end to their lives. Protanus, Kraahtan, and Sol immediately fled into hiding. Coronus, immediately upon seeing the wrath of Shadowmaster, sided with his creator and betrayed the Deity of Creation, but the deity's righteous nature carried on to his creations, the Glatorian and Agori of Spherus Magna, who sided with him in opposition of Shadowmaster. A conflict ensued, in which Great Beings descended from Alchemica Magnus to directly interfere, siding against Shadowmaster.
Engaging Shadowmaster in direct combat, the Deity of Creation was mortally wounded, but Shadowmaster and Coronus were soon after forced from Spherus Magna by the Great Beings, who remained on Spherus Magna to watch over the universe of the deities' creation.
Coronus thereafter continued to serve under Shadowmaster as his direct subordinate, though stripped of his original powers over life and given command over light and shadow instead, as castigation for his prior betrayal. He continued to play a role in Shadowmaster's trans-dimensional conquests in the hundreds of millennia that followed, eventually being killed by the Dark Lord in the events of the Shadow War.
Additionally, Sol, Protanus, and Kraahtan would serve under Shadowmaster within the Bringers of Destruction in the demon's efforts to claim the powers of the Deuskar, eventually being killed either by each other or by Razek.
Abilities[]
The deities were very powerful, but not to the extent of the Godly Ones themselves. They had near complete control over their respective element, able to manipulate it in many ways. However, they were not immortal, with durability only slightly greater than that of the average Toa. As Shadowmaster's direct creations, their elemental powers could be altered by him according to his whim, though once altered, they were restricted to command over non-legendary elements.
